If I understand this correctly, your current KBD has a broken spacebar, so you want to replace it with the NTC KB-6253EN?
Also your PC doesn't have a PS/2 port, so you need an adapter to make it work, right?

The problem will lie in the PS2->USB adapter you're using. You're probably using a cheap passive one, which won't work. You need an active converter like the 'blue cube' converter, or the ID Innovations converter. You'll also need a cheap, passive DIN->PS2 converter [these are the same connector basically, one's just larger, so you don't need an active converter for this]

That PS2 adapter definitely isn't active, so photekq is right. You can typically get active ones on eBay for less than €5, or get the blue cube if you want to be sure.

or a soarer's!
Your problem is that the converter you are using, the green one, cannot "talk" correctly to the PC, you need an other one.
Where are you located?
BTW nice KBD

edit:noticed it is likely a clone, so "most certainly" turned probably!

That other adapter (DIN->PS2) is fine. You don't need to replace that.

Yeah, I've ended up with slightly dodgy blue cubes before, so that's where the "probably" part came from. They've all been generally okay though, so not too much to worry about.chzel wrote: ↑That would probably work!scottc wrote: ↑You can try this one: http://www.ebay.ie/itm/USB-A-Male-to-PS ... 4d21f3a002

Yep, the switch on the underside should be in the 80286 setting so that it talks the AT protocol, which is used with both the big DIN (AT) and the small DIN (PS/2) connectors.
IBM's first computer with the Intel 80286 processor was called "IBM AT", where as the predecessors with 8088 processors were called XT and talked another protocol but used the same connector. The PS/2 connector was introduced with the "IBM PS/2" (obviously ).
The bad thing with "blue cubes" are that they are a bit fat so it can get too cramped if the connectors are too close together. There are lots of other active adapters where there is a bit of a cable also, that are often easier to fit, but not all are known to work too well with all kinds of keyboards.
Nice-looking Nan-tan keyboard! I hope you like those White Alps switches.

Surely you of all people would realise they're clones :-PFindecanor wrote: ↑Nice-looking Nan-tan keyboard! I hope you like those White Alps switches.
I'm leaning towards 'N' in the model numbers meaning "Nan Tan switch", since Nan Tan were passing off the clone switches as their own. (For all I know, Nan Tan were involved with Himake.) So, 6251EN would be clones, 6251EA would be Alps, and 6251EM would be Mitsumi. I don't know if the inconsistencies mean that I'm wrong, or that they didn't keep their model numbers straight!
And it's not just the black case, but the Dolch-like scheme too.
