Anyone following the surprise box will have read the backstory, so I will put it in spoiler tags here.
Spoiler:
Okay, funny thing happened...I mentioned the sinklist concept to someone and one thing led to another...so i was offered space for a display at the 2015 re-publica in Berlin to showcase the concept of a sinklist and our community. Would anyone from DT be interested in collaborating and getting a small display ready? Due to finishing up my masters I cannot do this by myself or put a lot of time into it. The fair takes place from the 5th to 8th of May.

The motto of this years re-publica is "finding europe", so we would have to highlight the european DT scene, especially our group projects, sinklists, try bag initiatives, etc.

Now, I had contact with the girl and we would be able to get room for an installation, the topic would have to match their Motto "Including Europe". I think our sinklists, group workshop projects, and eurocentric perspective on the keyboard-community are more than enough to talk about. Alternatively, we could present one or more projects in their Makerspace GiG http://re-publica.de/sponsor/global-inn ... athering-0

Here is an example of an installation: http://re-publica.de/news/mach-bei-find ... ope-lights

Thing is, they have no budget to give us. We would have to figure out what we need and do our best to get it there in person. MrInterface suggested a short intro video, that he would make.

Now for the clincher: I, as a father and student currently finishing up my masters, cannot shoulder this burden by myself.

IF we, as a community, want to use this chance to get our name out there, we need to come up with a battleplan and I definitely need several folks that will commit to this project. It would help, if there would be one or two members from Berlin or Members that are coming to town for the re-publica anyways to be a part of this. We might also need loan some equipment, like a display for the video. I have an email for their project coordinator, whom I will get in touch with once we have a clear idea what we want and need.

Interesting fact: german employees can have the three day convention counted as a "Bildungsurlaub".

Currently, there seems to be no interest. I would love to do this, but there is no way in hell i can pull it off by myself. If i dont have a team of 4-5 people by the end of the month, I will let them know we cannot field an exhibit this year.

From what I've seen, the city with the most DTers is Vienna. You and 7bit are the only Berliners I recall.

Thing is, I dont require locals. The majority of the work is preparation, which anyone could do. Shooting a fec intro clips, designing posters with content to show, preparing info material...no local needed. As for actually being at the fair, I was hoping to make it a stand alone thing that would not require someone on site the entire time.
