Look what I've found at my local junk dealer!

unfortunately it's without cable and it misses one feet, but it's pretty nice nonetheless. Now to the cleaning!

Should clean up a treat, I think. And more than useable with the feet retracted anyway. Nice catch.

now all I have to do is to build a controller for it :)

And piggyback the old one so you can share its delicate connections to the membrane?

Finally, some custom progress is coming to buckling springs!

yes, converting it into a TKL DIY is a must at this point :) those switches are soooo sexy!

TKL? Ambitious! And exactly what I have in mind, too. There's nothing quite as clicky as a "crouching spring axis".

this afternoon I'll open it and explore feasibility...

The good news is that there's oodles of room in there. I'm thinking of doing a Bluetooth mod to a Model M as a first step. Custom controller, dual mode USB with charging. Definitely space for months and months of battery! Then, with experience under my belt, getting more creative with the form factor on another board.

Going to need some Model Ms first though!

Why not try a 60% layout! I haven't seen one without the function keys yet, would be fun :P

I could reuse the case for the TKL. A 60% would require a completely new case.

Might want to look at this, Luke:

60% + function row would be feasible though

I'd go TKL because of the serious shortage of modifiers. Only four keys besides space bar on row 1: that's a squeeze just to get by, let alone taking one for the function layer.

Usually I much prefer the symmetry of 60% so I see the appeal. Maybe once you've a stockpile of IBMs to work on!

I'd use CAPSLOCK and RIGHT CTRL as FN1 and FN2... so it would be possible... mmmmh... well I have time to play with this until I get the missing parts for the brownfox :D

Edit: Model M inside an M0110 case.... mmmmmh

wondering if it would be possible to put the model m plate inside an m0110 case with some cutting... I have one spare m0110 case around... have to try
