I'd say it's like a high gloss finish or like very shiny keycaps
Something I absolutely dislike, this is the reason why I will stick to the superb PBT caps!
But indeed, they are beautifull!

Mmm, texture would make it a no-go. My dad is very much a traditionalist, he would not like a slick surface.

@DerpyDash_xAD: The HHKB pictured is the 'HHKB Pro HG Japan'.
It is a super expensive (¥525,000) limited edition keyboard that PFU/Fujitsu commissioned for the 10 year anniversary of the HHKB. Some pics of it here: http://pinchocodia.tistory.com/156

Apparently it takes several months to do - but if you have the time and patience, it is very much possible.

I can see! Still, it's a HHKB - more than I have in the Topre department. It's still quite charming, though - not every day you come across a HHKB like that!cookie wrote:Hahahaha, this baby has some miles on it! But I am going to overhaul it completely, my colleagues think that I am a heavy smoker because of the aged case :S

Gotta say I like it. Could really use a few more keys on the bottom row, but this one looks like it came from The Time Before Mods, so…

oh, that is a great looking board! Some of the keys are a bit weird, especially the tab and the shift keys as they have just used normal up-arrows as legends.

It strikes me how apparently they tried to use as few keycaps as possible, and still managed to use TWO of them for ON and OFF. Plenty of redundance there, especially when one of the keycaps has a dedicated led!

It is an odd little keyboard. I'm sure there were solid reasons for it's particular layout for whatever it belongs with. I've never seen this model in any old catalogs or anywhere for that matter, so it was probably a custom order board that only came with it's particular system. Judging from the types of things Schlumberger makes mostly I suppose it belongs to a piece of specialist hardware. From the condition it arrived in I would have guess it was in some kind of industrial environment.

Yes, some industrial machinery control panel was my first guess as well. Still I can't imagine why you would need two keys to turn such machine on and off, as opposed to a single power key. Also, I think the F-row would be a better placement for those power buttons, especially when you have a tab key up there – which means you could accidentally push "off" when looking for tab. But who knows? Maybe as you say there's some solid reason behind those choices. Interesting keyboard nonetheless.

The picture is gorgeous, the table melts in a blurry sausage, and really a classy touch. I bet you're sitting there with a monocle and a cigar.
Great idea, an IBM Blue cap! I have ordered and got already some IBM blue sticker material, and want to make some fanboy stuff like an M logo for the car, or a heart instead of the M, or a duck?

The "Strg" key looks out of place on that QWERTY set. Give it to me!
(My German set is missing one of the two Strg keys unfortunately)
Very nice photo indeed. The contrast on DS WOB sets is in fact very handsome.
