Still, Alps mount caps are better than most rubber dome sad stories.
aint topre just slider sover rubber done ? :P

not saying they are bad never used them but i think its possible for a rubber dome to be decent if its built well and has decent caps , i had a cherry rubber dome many years ago with nice thick caps nothing special but it felt decent

The PBT set won't work on the NovaTouch, in case anyone's getting ideas. No HHKB style Shift.

If it is blue Alps, that's a nice price.

I didn't know where to post this, but... I was surprised to find out that Cortron (founded 1969) is still making keyboards - made in USA, military spec., magnetic pulse switches.

http://www.cortroninc.com/keyboards.php

They're probably expensive as hell though. Has anybody here bought one?

Not bad. Only 6x what I paid for mine from Cindy, so it's a fairly good deal! For now…

Anyone else bid on that lot of 10 Access-IS boards that just ended? The forces of good prevailed, which is to say my little consortium won!

I have seen a couple Cortrons from sale on eBay during the past year or so, and I posted a video clip of a US Navy underwater explosion test of a Cortron:

Do you have any more information on the switches used in these keyboards?

Did you win the auction?

If the winner is here on deskthority I could be interested in buying one...

Why don't you offer it in the marketplace before putting it on eBay? ;)

All already spoken for, before any of you get ideas! The ones I've opened so far are all in great shape. I'll test them and see about shipping quotes.

I assume they're "magnetic pulse" and similar to hall effect. I'll find out soon. I've got a vintage Cortron keyboard coming in the mail. :)

Basically a nice board... has some strong signs of wear... but kind of gives it even more character. But much too expensive, especially in this condition.

I would be tempted if the price was somewhere around 500$.
