HORI, makers of the popular 'Real Arcade Pro' line of arcade sticks, announced a new line of peripherals under the brand name 'EDGE'. Includes a mouse, mechanical keyboard and gamepad.

The new switch for the keyboard looks to be a clone of the Cherry MX, developed in-house by Hori. Not surprising really given that they produce switches already for their arcade sticks and such.
  • 3mm ± 0.2mm travel
  • 1.5mm actuation (compared to MX's ~2.0mm)
  • 19mm pitch
  • 55g ± 20g (strangely high margin for error, I thought)
  • NKRO
  • Blue LEDs
  • ¥21,800 (strangely high price, I thought)

For something called "edge" I was expecting more black and red. Seems pretty meh, especially for the price.

Looks not bad, and I think its Cherry-MX-compatibility is good feature. However, as you say so, I wonder whether it's worth for the price even considering the reliability.

Hmm.. At first I thought it could have been Kaihua's low-profile Cherry MX clone, but the snaps on the sides are Cherry-style, not Kaihua-style.
