Interesting find, an industrial SSK on eBay. Interesting in the sense that I'm really curious about the final price.

I thought I'd post my step-by-step protocol on how to get the TMK firmware onto bpiphany's HID Liberation Device (for Filco Majestouch 2 TKL). I wrote this down like a year ago or so. Some links could be dead, version numbers could be different. This is on Win7 64bit. Program the HID Liberation Devi...

Fine tolerance :? Allowing +/- 15 g tolerance for a 45 g rated switch is - well - crap. Of course, usually the switch activation forces are within a much smaller range but you can get a Monday morning model if you're unlucky. The separate NumLock key makes sense. Does it also activate the internal numpad? How would one switch between the numpad numerical functions and its cursor navigation functions? How is that realized in original IBM SSKs? I think you have to press shift to momentarily switch to the cursor functionali...

The switches feel very rubber-domy and quite scratchy if hit off-center. Not really refined but I think that was not the intention here. The keyboard layout looks nice at first but the position of the enter key is totally wrong. It's one position too far to the left: under your pinky. I guess there ...

Goedhart Visicom II teksttelefoon
This is the "Goedhart Visicom teksttelefoon", probably the Visicom II, a text telephone for the deaf and hearing impaired made by the Dutch company Goedhart Electronics in 2004. The design seems to from 1999, at least that's the date on the controller daughterboard. The Visicom could - and possibly ...

Nice idea, we don't see many double-stepped key caps these days.
Did you look at SP's DCS family? Not all of your desired shapes are available but quite a few are.

This guy has no idea what he's talking about. LEDs mounted inside the switches in order to protect them from dying from ESD. Right. But yay! for full key programmability! Hopefully without needing drivers. Regarding the light show: http://i.perezhilton.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/unicorn-poopcook...

Nothing wrong with intestine. As matter of fact, proper sausages are nothing more than prepared meat packed in a a piece of intestine. BTW, have you seen the Vienna episode of Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservation"? Here's the most interesting part: http://www.travelchannel.com/video/tonys-purbach-dinn...

Wow, I love the idea of "LED spotlights"! Very elegant. A problem, however, would probably be the visibility in full daylight. But hey, one can always close the curtains/blinds ;) And here's my input about Fn-lock, Fn etc: I like having a Fn and Fn lock key. That being said, the location of these ke...

I have no long term experience with reduced pitch keyboards but I've noticed that some keys are easier to reach on smaller, otherwise inferior laptop keyboards.
BTW, the microTRON has a reduced key pitch.

Topre indeed sells variable force keyboards ("ergonomically weighted"). I've tried one and I did not like it; mainly because I've found the pinky keys being too light. That's why I've bought an uniformly -weighted Realforce and it's actually worse. :( The way it is cannot really be intentional. You ...
