Topre and Clear MX both have the long, gradual tactile curve [...] when it comes to weight, Browns are closer to Topre- they're both light-ish and ergonomic. which is why I recommended Ergoclears. The light spring of browns with the tactility of clears. It's the closest you can get to Topres with M...

Despite both being tactile MX switches, Browns and Clears are worlds apart. Even comparing different flavors of MX switch can be like apples and oranges... So, If this is the case, pitting against one another MX switches to Topre is like... comparing an elephant to a... field of petunias? But I'll t...

Would these be pink or salmon? If I dig further in my archives, i'm sure I have some snapshots of hybrid orange/pink switches all mingling together on the same board. Genetic engineering?

The wiki has brown down as tactile. Does this mean that brown has been used for both tactile and linear? I've added that page to the wiki with a reference. I trust you that they're genuine Alps ;-) (they look to be it, but there are a few two-tab clones out there including SMK) You need to post all...

it would look great if they'd ditch that awful hood ornament with the cherry logo, and just go with a good old-fashioned quadrilateral maybe?

oh, and replacement keycap sets.... What's to stop anyone from making some taller, sculpted keycap sets for the 3800?

Here's what they remind me of- the not-so-popular SMK switches Apple sometimes used in the M0487 I think.

If you ask me, it LOOKS every bit as solid and well-engineered as the Realforce. It's a rubber dome over membrane. The realforce in rubberdome over capasative switch. Speaking only for BLUE switches, I gotta admit that the older ones were nicer. I've done side-by-side comparisons with the following 2 keyboards: 1989 West German made G80-1800 w/Blues (NIB) 2009 Czech made G80-3000 w/Blues (NIB) Appearance-wise, the only difference is the shade of blue; the vintage...

I never skimp on archival boxes.Spending an extra 25 cents per box and you are left with storage that will seriously last.
I go through a local box recycler. They're a bit more pricey, but I gotta support the local economy when possible.

FPS gamers (most of the good ones, anyhow) will absolutely hate the reset point on blue switches. Since they're not necessarily keyb...
