I didn't notice about the Esc key placement. My old habit of hitting Ctrl-Shift-Esc to bring up Windows Start menu will have to change. Should be even easier now (with the bigger keys)... The position & size of the Esc key (and the dead space between Caps Lock and A) are to accommodate the change i...

Same switches, so yes, it will feel the same.

One board goes a really long way, when it literally goes a really long way! 002's touring Realforce is the best thing that happened to Topre in this part of the world. I'd just give people more than a week (two weeks?) with a split ergo board like this, because it would be many people's first exper...

I'm cool to review it and then pass it around for others to get a taste, if you like. We have a tradition of "touring keyboards" here for high end stuff that's not easy for people to try without a big commitment. 002's tours are how I first tried Topre, for instance. I went on to import an HHKB… ht...

Very keen to review this board when you can spare us one! Split ergos are intriguing, especially when they've got good switches for a change! Yes, we'll provide one to DT as soon as the next production run is done. Because so many people pre-ordered, we didn't feel comfortable sending out lots of r...

What kind of stems do the switches have? It is not Cherry keycaps compatible, is it? Thanks.
They are ALPS stems, not Cherry compatible.

BTW, it's not possible to do this keyboard with Cherry switches, because they're too portly to support 0.75u spacing needed for the arrow and nav keys.

Awesome! We have a handful of community written firmwares for this kind of stuff we make ourselves, and installing it in a factory made keyboard is an excellent idea. Great! Certainly having the case and all the keycaps already done does simplify things a lot. Your controller is separate from the s...

Okay, I've covered this before but it bears repeating here... While the keyboard is not programmable, it does offer some features that allow what programmability is often requested for -- namely DIP switches for a few specific key remappings: Swapping Ctrl and Caps Lock Remapping the Left Spacebar t...

I believe Matias has previously said they're against programmable keyboards because it makes it easier for the NSA to put rogue firmware on. It sounds a lot more ridiculous if you put it like that. :) And, it's a hell of a lot easier to sell a staggered layout, I'd guess, because that's what people...

Looks great, definitely smaller than I expect...

Nice detective work, Daniel. :-) They are one of our vendors. They do final assembly of the switches. Other factories are involved in making the component parts. As for the conspiracy theories, believe me, nothing would have made be happier than to be able to buy a good switch off-the-shelf. We foun...

Wow, nice work! You are indeed the first to do a mod with our switches. The switch packs will start shipping next week. I heard that they were using Solid Year -- the same factory that makes the Logitech keyboard.

I also heard that Microsoft is getting into the mechanical gaming keyboard market. Not a big surprise, but perhaps a little too late to have much impact.

I fancy trying a Matias, but not so keen on the silver finish… looks like a cheap 90s alarm clock. The silver looks better in person, but if you're really faux metal averse :) the USB model is black. You can do Home/End by holding down the Fn key with your thumb, and pressing PgUp/PgDn. It's a one-handed operation.

I don't know anyone who uses Home/End very much -- but maybe that's just me. PgUp/PgDn are useful for scrolling. I use them all the time.

There will be ISO models of the Quiet Pro for PC in UK, German, and Nordic layouts. The PC model can be used on a Mac as well. What about spanih layout? :D :D :D For now, the UK layout is probably the most similar to Spanish. It'll certainly let you type in Spanish, though the letters printed on a ...
