Re: Recreating the Lisp keyboard (10 years later)

Ooh, I'm pretty sure that Blue Alps one is headed this way; very excited. It remains to be seen whether I remember where are all the function keys are without legends. This was one of the biggest dilemmas during the development—custom legends on the grey keys. I have been asked by some of you about...

Re: Recreating the Lisp keyboard (10 years later)

lispnick, this is one of the most exciting developments I've seen in a very long time. Kudos to you. If we have Deskthority Awards (which we had damn well better this year) you have my vote! My funds are going toward the elecplus warehouse cleanout, I hope to be able one of your kits in due time. I...

Re: Recent Matias Switch Reliability

What's the status on this - did the situation with Matias switch reliability ever improve? I've read a few threads where rumours of it being "fixed" or "improved" were mentioned, but never anything concrete. I have bought three cartons of Matias switches a few months ago and build several keyboards...

Re: Recreating the Lisp keyboard (10 years later)

I have finished building the board on Blue Alps. I think this is a nice opportunity to compare the sound of the switches with Matias Clicks in the same case. Here is the result: jSN2DEuuNRs While the Blue Alps are really good, especially the spacebar; I'm surprised by how good the Matias Click swit...

I have finished building the board on Blue Alps. I think this is a nice opportunity to compare the sound of the switches with Matias Clicks in the same case. Here is the result: jSN2DEuuNRs There is a slight difference in spacebar stabilization. The Matias board uses a dummy switch—a Matias switch w...

Re: Recreating the Lisp keyboard (10 years later)

Hi guys! I have made a quick sound comparison to give you an idea of the difference between my keycaps and the more traditional Alps-mount keycaps. I have used a subset of trapezoidal PBT keycaps that came from the IBM PC Convertible. The demo shows the results on a board that has NeKtar-lubed green...

Re: Alps Lubricant FOUND!

Hi guys! I have finished building a custom keyboard with NeKtar-lubed green alps. The result is very satisfying! I did not want to lube the switches first because they seemed to be fine but I changed my mind after mounting the keycaps—the switches were not binding but definitely scratchy. Compared t...

Re: Recreating the Lisp keyboard (10 years later)

Thank you all for the feedback. Sorry for late response, I am recovering from my teeth surgery. I will try to answer some of the questions. First the bad news. I do not consider to make and sell keycaps separately at this point. When I realised it does not make much sense to compete with s...

Recreating the Lisp keyboard (10 years later)

Hi guys! This is lispnick, my first post here. About a couple years ago I got a crazy idea of recreating Symbolics 365407 Rev A. From what I have read in the forum, I was not the first person with such ambition. At first, I just wanted to get the original for my regular work and had absolutely no in...
