Does that then accelerate at half the rate and arrives at half the velocity? Is the energy dissipated the same? Therefore the strength of impact the same? umm, errr, if we add more weight to the top of the same spring, then it takes less force to push it down. That means less energy is returned whe...

This would be interesting to try, but where to get so many greens? Mouser seem to have 0 in stock. mod it with blue stem and black spring :) hmm, didn't think of that, but Cherry sez black is the same force as blue. Clears are a little bit more but only greys and greens have the crazy forces. Ballp...

I might also try some acoustic damping paste carefully wiped into the top or / and sides of the key caps. Maybe with this one: http://www.secondskinaudio.co.uk/liquids.html "Second Skin Spectrum Sludge is the thickest vibration putty/paste on the market." There's a possibility that it'll make the k...

My take on this is that it seems that the Cherry switches leave a lot to be desired. Or so many people wouldn't be so keen to improve them. I reckon they are a switch designed a long time ago to function reliably, last well in a work environment and be as cheap as possible to make. Very well put. T...

The PCB files will be published, but at least I think that it should wait until the first round of a group buy has been completed. I don't think it is in anyone's interest to have people getting impatient starting small runs here and there by themselves. The latest design isn't even tested yet. Or ...

The kind of material they use in cheap silicone bakeware works ok too. I sacrificed a floppy breadpan. A bit like RD material, i suppose.

erm, don't plate mount cherry's have little clips to go behind a thin plate? you might have to use pcb mount ones and glue them in or something. Aside from that, hobby and fine woodworking shops should have stuff that's good for that. Coping saw, keyhole saw, files, rasps, little woodcarving chisels...
