Re: Filco TKL ANSI with mx blacks or browns
Does anyone refer to Gateron's and Kailh's many switches as "MX"? I always hear them termed "Box navies" and the (very many, just as specific) like. Actually yes. A few people I´ve encountered online refer to all MX style switches as MX. Most of the time, its people that are veeery biased towards s...

Re: Cherry G80-1800 mounting plates
Aw shucks, even desoldered, would've spared me half the work. I was just curious about this reader thingy. If you are ever interested in one of my plates let me know :) Yeah, and that was before I had my Hakko, so all manual. Since the mx blacks had the diodes inside of the switch, it were 4 solder...

Re: Cherry G80-1800 mounting plates
I didn't get the version with the funky paper card reader they used in chemist's i guess, which i hoped for as the seller had pictures of these. Sad, as I had one for sale a few month ago https://deskthority.net/download/file.php?id=76930 It ended up being desoldered, as I needed a stock of mx blac...

Really cool ! always wanted to mod on of those boards. They are probably the most common mechanical board in germany, so you can get them really cheap. The jade stems with the black case looks so good, what a shame you cant really see them

The difference is quite marginal if ISO buyers are willing to put up with English legends instead of full blown national łàŷøütš. I can only speak for myself ofc , but I only buy sets with DE support. Iam more then happy to purchase an international set separately, if it will be offered at all. łàŷ...

Its the same with all of my oranges I´ve got. They vary a lot between switches and also sadly spring weight.
Thats why I want to spring swap them so bad.

Wait, do you get doublestage Alps springs???? I love MX double/triple stage, but on Alps they'd be phenomenal. I also have some ivories lying about that I'm going to experiment on, so lighter springs could be part of that Yeah , there are springs on ali express you can use. The store I used back in...

The couple times I've lubed alps I've just gone for the sides of the slider that makes contact with the rails after ultrasonically cleaning the stem and upper housings, and it seeeeeems to work alright, though I've never tried your type of method to compare. Re: Alps Appreciation
Function key overlays for common vintage boards would really be a cool idea for a product ! On another note, what parts of SKCM switches do you generally lube ? Alps_SKCM_Amber_--_click_leaf.jpg I would have lubed the sides of the stem that come into contact with the upper housing, the uper housing ...

Either one would be, by far, the most I've ever spent on a board. same , especially for a vintage board that is not already like 200$ just for the slab of alu and brass its milled out of :D compared to pine neon green Alps timon-jaw-drop-lion-king-bozn1ps5hn8zqc1p.gif do.... do people actually spen...

Re: [WTB] - Nick´s list of dream boards
Good news: the controller is socketed . You could pull it out and swap it for a Teensy++ for a non-destructive conversion. That is so cool ! If I ever get one, I´ll do that. Its funny, videowriters are quite rare in germany, but yesterday, one popped up (like minutes after I wrote this post) Sadly,...

Can't argue with the AT — Nothing comes close to that sharp and oh so satisfying Model F click. Yeah, its just so crisp. Also its just so different to everything else out there. Even Model M BS just doesnt really cut it... its very good but slightly less satisfying (at least for my monke brain) I, ...

Re: Epson SKCL Brown Keyboard
Both boards look like they have the same style lock lights as that of Fujitsu Peerless keyboards... agree, probably they are, or I would have probably found a post from a lunatic like us describing how they can come with browns :D Anyway, I really do dig this Epson AT's aesthetic. Agreed ! An absol...

Re: Epson SKCL Brown Keyboard
What a beautiful find ! Epson boards are pretty cool. This is is by far the coolest, though they have some other nice contenders. I want to get one with Topre or SKCL Alps someday, but finding info is pretty hard. Wiki only has 4 boards listed, while there are many more "unidentified" boards out the...

I am more than thankful for the amount of work and dedication keymacs has put into it. The quality of the keyboard is extraordinary. The sound is mind blowing and the key feel is on another level. What is the least invasive way to pull Alps switches from the metal plate after they are desoldered from PCB? Depends, but normally & escpecially when the pcb of the donor board is not as important, I pry them out. I stick this tool from my ifixit kit in between the bottom of the switches and the p...
