The thing is that everything was running smoothly until Yosemite struck. Guessing that there are some issues with the gpu drivers (or similar) for my model.

@Khers: all the cool kids (Mac and iOS App Store Developers) reckon Apple is nuts for backwards compatibility. It really hurts them when they aren't allowed to refuse a user just because their hardware is incapable of running the same class of game or app. http://www.allenpike.com/2014/the-ipad-zom...

I hate Yosemite at the moment. The reason for this is two-fold. Firstly, a lot of the programs that I use are not Yosemite compatible atm, not too bad since most of them are being released in the near future. Worse is the fact that ever since installing Yosemite my computer freaks out a coupl...

I filed an order for some gold springs since those were the only ones available. However, I have, a potentially very stupid, question: the gold is there only for bling (that will never be seen) right? If it's gold plated the gold is only a couple of microns thick and will not change any of the mecha...

Seems those cases are prone to crack, since POTV experienced something similar with one. http://deskthority.net/want-to-buy-f56/wanted-upper-plastic-m-122-case-that-fits-an-f-122-t8998.html Couldn't agree more with quantalume It's unfortunate when something like this survives for 30 years only to ge...

For instance, the Novatouch TKL's Topre sliders are MX keycap compatible
I don't quite agree, MX cap-compatible, sure, but can not be used as a drop in replacement. Thus, the NT switches are only MX half-compatible :D

Nice work quantalume! Your unsaver is gonna look ace!

Considering sanding down the plate of my bigfoot to get rid of the rust. The rust-proofing primer you've used seems like a good idea (why did IBM not rust proof their plates from the off?). What type of paint did you use for the top coat?

Someone said that the inner foot/knob on the Bigfoot is the same as the XT. If so, I have one for you. My Bigfoot is at the office, otherwise I would check myself. If so, that would be awsome! I took a look at my Bigfoot today, and the foot is definitely different, unfortunately. I don't know where...

Forgot to get the camera out of my bag after the weekend. After carrying it to work I thought I could just as well grab a photo of my office desk and make it worthwhile.

Also, those damped Alps are rather quiet, appreciated when not having my own office at work. Guess my office mate would kill me if I brought a BS. He's rather annoyed by my MX Brown Ducky... But the feeling of BS is superior to MX IMHO.

Maybe this helps: http://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/model-f-improvement-dis-assembly-tips-and-space-bar-mod-t6982.html At least it helped me, when I disassembled and cleaned my Model F AT. Wish I'd found that guide a couple of days ago! I feel the spacebar is a bit on the heavy side on my bigfoot....

When mentioning guides, remember to link them, for positive karma! I'm interested to see what you get up to with the AEK II. I've got quite a nice one, but I'm considering getting another so I could try a TKL hatchet job on it. Naturally, I should pop mine open and check the controller's in a smart...

Great, now i know what i have to expect in my Model M box! The BigFoot looks really good, except the issue on the left side. But it looks all in all very clean! But will you, or will you keep it time capsule style? The bigfoot, while not very clean when I got it, was in pretty good nick and cleaned...

That model M is an AT keyboard, not a terminal model. You can plug that thing right into a pc if you have a model M PS/2 cable laying around. Sweet, thanks and sorry for the error. Fixed. As a matter of fact I've ordered an IBM PS/2 cable from Unicomp as I figured it was worth a try. Also incoming ...

My texan keyboards

Took some photos of the BigFoot, NIB Model M and Apple Extended II that I got from Cindy the other week. The non-NIB ones were a bit dirty when I received them, but hot water, dish soap and some elbow grease really does make wonders. I'll start off with a family photo: http://i.imgur.com/kbHTRGp.jpg...

Very nice pics! I collected one from the post office earlier this week as well. Given that I've wanted to lay my hands on a model M for some time (you don't stumble upon nice examples very often in Sweden) I opened the box right away to dry type a bit :). Will post pics of the boards I got at some l...
