While my whole life is a todo list (formerly in ListPro, now MyLifeOrganized), I'm not very good at keeping one for this project. Well I was until a few months ago but then had to make some money here which took me off the project. One of the two developers working on it left at end of November whic...

I put it on hiatus in 2010. At that time I only had the mod I built in 2008. Then in 2011 I revived it but nothing came out of that - again. So, the 'board I'm talking about in the last post is the first real thing since 2008. There were always rumours I had more "prototypes" and I got several mails...

^^^ Thanks for the comments! Can't say anything on pricing yet. Still working our way through the revisions. Revision 'C' of the controller pcb came on Monday. So, two days ago parts were soldered and it wouldn't work. :( Then yesterday, after a small correction, for the first time EVERYTHING WORKED...

Ich verwende Shift+Ctrl+Right/Left da...

Is there a certain PBT hype right now? Because it's been around for a long time. Actually, this is PBT too, ooooold pic: http://www.guru-board.com/pics/miniguru_blank.jpg But only lately people seem to prefer it. What happened? Anyway, last time I tried (some months ago and not _that_ hard) I couldn...

No, Findecanor meant these (I guess): http://www.aliexpress.com/item/6-x-6-x-9-5mm-Black-Push-Button-Right-Angle-Tactile-Momentary-Switches-10-Pcs/1146549625.html As I said: I want to put it on the mount plate. Pretty stable.Findecanor wrote: ↑The common square microswitches are also available with right-angle housing, but they would need some backing (from a custom-made bracket, maybe ... ) so as to not put strain on the solder pads.

Also: What does "detent torque" mean? Is that a bad thing, like ratchet scrolling? :? Probably. Maybe you have to mod it and if you're lucky this can be done without opening it. You also have to check height. With this encoder the middle of the axis is at 4.5mm over pcb top. With the Miniguru, top ...

And what about the wheel itself? 4 posts up. Depends on how "perfect" you want it. You need a hex axis. If you want to do the wheel one part (better) you have to do the hex part in a second step on a mill with a rotary table (assuming non-cnc machines). That's a lot of work. It would be easier to f...

The Miniguru 'solves' this by leaving away the center button and going with a conventional space bar Historically, there was nothing to solve as the prototype uses a two-button trackpoint model. wheel Look for rotary encoders, here's one from our favorite company: http://kailh.manufacturer.globalso...
