Interesting! A bit more ambitious than my own ideas, but looks very cool regardless. Is the blue button on the right side a space ordoyouplantotalklikethisforever? :P And is Nm a Function key? It seems a little daunting to me, but that's probably partially due to never having used Dvorak before. I ...

Goldilocks reduced size
Reading through the workshop posts and experimenting with KeyRemap4Macbook has got me thinking about building my own compact keyboard. Some of the 40% keyboards seem a little daunting to me, so I started thinking about a layout that would be smaller than a 60% layout, but would reduce the amount of ...

I think there are two separate questions here. 1. How much does the cost structure for producing Topre capacitive switches play into pricing? In other words, is the pricing driven by the cost of production or simply by what the market is willing to pay for the product? To this question, I have no id...

The origin of Apple gestures, they bought the Fingerworks company and the patents: Interesting. I did not know about the Fingerworks company. What's it like to type on such a keyboard? One of the things I guess I don't like about the trackpad is that tapping can be jarring since there is no give to...

Apple Magic Trackpad
I feel like typing on my new RealForce, so I've decided to write some reviews. Last month, I had surgery on a finger on my right hand. This made it difficult/impossible to effectively use a standard mouse. Rather than gimping along or taking sick leave, I decided to purchase some pointing devices wh...

No doubt, its still one of the best keyboards you can get. Leaving out the build quality and going entirely by the keyfeel the Topre just was not "mechanical" enough for my taste. A $15 keytronic is not much worse than a $250 Topre if you ignore the look and build quality. I think the "mechanical" ...

I found the blue LED lights way too bright on my 103ub, and ended up having to cover them with a movie ticket. Are the ones on the UW different? Maybe the black color provides that much more contrast that it's annoying? The blue LEDs on the 103U-UW don't seem any brighter than, say, the green LED o...

Topre Realforce 103U-UW First Impressions
Things have been fairly rough at work and my personal life, so coming home to a new keyboard was something of a refresher. After using a Cherry MX brown keyboard at home for a few weeks, I decided that I really needed to get a new keyboard to use at the office. Since I work in an open plan office, l...

I like to read what I call "character novel." Books that are more about the characters than for any unusual thing happening. If they were movies, they would be indie films. Margaret Atwood and Robert Olen Butler are some of my favorite fiction authors. I also like to read science history. There's a ...

I use an Ergotron LX Dual Stacking arm. Received it a week or so ago and it has become one of the best purchases I've made so far. I use it to support an NEC LCD2470WNX and a Macbook. It is relatively easy to setup. Has some decent cable management features, and looks great. Being desk mount, howeve...
