They are wonderful! though I think orange alps would be better for high speed tapping games.

Thanks HzFaq for the help!

Actually, I think you're right on the money with the alps variant, it seems to be a mix of both pics.

Anyone seen one of these before? I figured 3 bux was low risk, not sure what kind of switches there. Each switch has 4 pins.

Update, for anyone looking around, I did find a replacement for mine: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/ALPS/EC10E1220501/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMv5XWiOWIxhpGh8qQp%252bZEde2PSiuffgMwU%3d These are called rotary encoders, but finding the correct kind made for mice is pretty hard. If you want to look into the...

Looking To Replace Some Switches / Sensors In My Mouse

I have a Corsair M90, and every 6 months I have to tear the entire thing apart and clean it out because the scroll wheel goes hard down whenever its touched. What I would like to do is replace the rotary encoder, but I'm having a hard time finding a good source for parts. I am also interested in rep...

I got it working! I just used the MD1 scan module, modified it a bit, made a new folder, and edited the pinout and default layer. I'm basically using the default settings on the CMakeLists, aside from removing the extra layers, and changing the mcu. Getting the key assignments setup to the wiring I ...

I will check these out, Am currently trying a pair of MX Reds that I mounted into my keyboard and they are a big improvement.

I play a bit of Osu sometimes, so I think the best setup would be low actuation force, and low travel. Thanks for the info guys.

Good Pushbutton Switches?

I play osu a lot, and do a lot of double tapping on the same two buttons. Ive been interested in testing a pair of push buttons but I don't really know where to start aside from some standard purpose stuff on digikey and mouser, any suggestions?

Nice flabbergast, thanks for the link. I mostly just want my keyboard to be able to work as both a ps/2 device and a usb device. I have a ps/2 kvm switch that I'm thinking about modifying to have a usb for the mouse, and ps/2 for the keyboard. I'm not quite sure which I prefer, ps/2 has some advanta...

Ps/2 Protocol for teensy?

Hello again. Ive been playing around with my teensy++ 2.0 for bit now, modifying some ergodox code to customize my keyboard, and now I'm ready for the next step. Has any one created ps/2 support for the teensy? As in, I can wire up a ps/2 plug to the pins, patch in some ps/2 protocol to the ergodox ...

I got it working! Ordered a teensy++ 2.0 and hashed out some of the Ergodox code for my layout, and some of the stuff that needed to be updated for the teensy++ 2.0 (he doesn't have any options in there for other controllers, yet) and everything but the numpad is just about sorted out. I'm thinking ...

They look just like this http://deskthority.net/wiki/File:Mitsumi_standard_mechanical_lock_type_1_--_recognition.jpg Except, one of the short sides of the cross is only half as long as the other on all of the switches. Swintec 1146 CMP Mitsumi switches?

So this isn't exactly a keyboard, it's a typewriter. But it has some interesting switches. My tablet camera is a giant pile of shits, I'll try to get my other camera working.

I think these are http://deskthority.net/wiki/Mitsumi_standard_mechanical can anyone confirm?

Daniel, It does not, or at least I'm not even going to bother testing if the original chip could(the PCB was probly the main problem, I couldn't even use the up and left arrow at the same time). However now that i think about it, that chip is a dip 40, it certainly has enough inputs :/ Update: Well ...

Not too pretty but it works so far. Had to take some paint thinner to the ends of the diodes where they had tape gum on them. I was about 5 diodes short so I just pulled them off the old PCB hehe. Solid Strand telephone/thermostat wire works perfectly for the vertical rows as well.

It looks like I was mistaken, they can be reassembled while desoldered from the board. I had to hold the upper half of the switch upside down and fit in all the metal contacts in a certain order and once everything was lined up absolutely perfect the thing snapped together with ease. I haven't teste...

I can pull the tops of but it is pretty tricky. I have to use a pair of shims to wedge the inner snaps apart then pry up the snaps that connect the top of the switch to the mounting plate. If i try to desolder it with the top off the whole thing pretty much comes apart and the bottom half is free. I...
