Do you mean like arcade cabinet push buttons? Check out these websites, they stock arcade pushbuttons for arcade machines and fighting game joysticks. Sanwa and Seimitsu have the best quality. http://www.arcadespareparts.com/arcade_parts/sanwa_parts.html http://www.canadianjoysticks.com/categories/B...

Thanks for the advice. There is a Z in my name so I'd like to have that switch working properly again! Of course I could also swap that switch for the blank mystery key in the upper right corner. Some of other switches also feel slightly stiffer or "snappier" during the initial press. It looks like ...

Disassembling SMK Montereys

Is there a guide on how to disassemble and/or lubricate SMK Monterey Blues switches? The switch under the "Z" key on my Monterey K110/SIIG Minitouch doesn't always register my keystrokes, especially off-center presses.

I have tried searching, maybe I'm not doing it right...

I've given the K110 a more thorough test run. All the keys work, but some of them feel very sticky, certainly much more so than the Montereys on my Chicony KB-5181. Judging by the light brown color of the residue I cleaned off of the PCB, I'd say someone spilled coffee on it. Is there any way to cle...

I cleaned the back of the PCB today with some 91% isopropyl alcohol and an old car detailing microfiber cloth. Whatever that crap was, it came off easily and now the board doesn't reek of rancid solder flux and mold. Sorry I did not get any after photos! Anyways, when I first got this keyboard I sus...

Isn't that watch... a bit too big? This is the first wristwatch I have bought in a while and I didn't expect it to be that big when I bought it. I still like it though. It kind of reminds me of a Ferrari tachometer, but isn't quite as cheesy as some of the "racing-inspired" watches I've seen.

Yeah, the RJ11 jack wires!

Can I just use rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs to clean off the residue? Whatever it is, it doesn't appear to affect operation. The keyboard worked fine when I tested it.

Actually, those are stickers applied by the seller, which is a surplus industrial equipment reseller. I have since removed them.

Residue on K110 PCB

I was cleaning my new acquisition, a Monterey K110, and when I opened the case and looked at the back I saw (and smelled) this. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n137/ArtOfRuin1285/Keyboards/20150215_071709_zpsre03abav.jpg Does anyone know what the heck this white, stinky stuff is (that's what she ...

BussoV6's Keyboard Garage

Two keyboards I was waiting on arrived in the mail yesterday, so now that I'm up to three mechanical keyboards (and one semi-mechanical) I figure it's time to show them off! My first mechanical keyboard, and the one I've been using for about a month, is a Chicony KB-5181 rebranded as "Elite." It has...

Here's mine, a 3H Italia Quarzo watch. I also have a pocket watch somewhere. I will have to see if I can dig it up. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n137/ArtOfRuin1285/85696f38-03d2-47e3-a04e-14db2a46d743_zpsvu9tyhji.jpg http://gevrilgroup.com/images/3h-italia-watches/luxury-watches/3H%20Italia%20...

I think I found some Canon (Acer) 6311s that could be good key cap donors. Right not I don't really mind the key caps, but a solution for the case in the future would be nice. In the meantime I can live with the Chicony just fine until my other two mechanical keyboards arrive later this month. I'm w...

Questions about Chicony KB-5181 and Monterey Blues

Hello Deskthority! I recently bought a barely-used Elite (rebranded Chicony) KB-5181 keyboard with the SMK Monterey Blue switches. This is the first mechanical keyboard I have owned and probably the first I can remember typing on since childhood! So far I like it way more than the rubber domes I'm u...
