I'm bidding on a Model F that ends today, here's hoping no one comes in and jacks up the price!

Brand New F62 Kishsaver / F77 Industrial Model F's made this year

I completely understand the sentiment of modernizing the keyboard (hell that's what I'm hoping for long term), but from a risk mitigation angle it may make more sense to do a full on reproduction as then you have a well known yard stick to compare to. I'd go one further and say Ellipse should focus ...

Re: Brand New F62 Kishsaver / F77 Industrial Model F's made this year

What's your intent with respect to the final files (open source/proprietary) for various parts? You've clearly put quite a bit of work into this so it certainly wouldn't be crazy for you to try and turn this into a business ala Gon. I'm not a huge can of the classic model f form factors but I do lik...

I was excited too, but then I saw you can't put KPT switches in Alp keyboards as there are not compatible. But the caps are ALPS compatible even if there were issues with the switches. International shipping probably puts it out of the "value" range, but if it would have been in the US it would hav...

Good to know. I'm debating what to do with my 5181, try and retrobright it or paint it.

And if the results from the first board are any indication you're going to have some great boards to sell in the coming weeks!

That's really not that uncommon, especially if it was hosted at a smaller data center. Just like credit card processors, when they deem you too much of a risk they cut you off.

Re: Is GeekWhack down?

I think it's a combination of a lot of things, with one of the big ones being novelty keycaps and the drama/idiocy that surrounds them. Yeah, novelty-hysteria has latched onto the GH brain stem. Artificial scarcity, and obsessive collectors, what could possibly go wrong? It's like reliving 1990s be...

Love the boards, and I can't even begin to imagine the amazing stories they could tell if they could talk! The only way MMcM could have gotten these keyboards, is by being a true Lisp Beard. Come to think of it: does Kickstarter allow non-US based projects? I don't recall ever seeing one. The UK was opened up in late 2012. Nederlands opened last year, but I don't know about the rest of Europe at this point. I know I've run into a few since the Euro as donation denomination is a dead gi...
