I have had a T420 (i7) as my main computer for a few years now, too. I read the software from the floppy disks, but it's MS-DOS software that won't run on Windows because it talks directly to the hardware of the PS/2 port. Also, AFAIU the keyboard has no memory that survives power-off, which means that the programming was re-uploaded at boottime through the PS/2 port...

Sounds very interesting! This might well have an audience beyond Model MF, because as fohat said, just sawing off the righthand side of the Internals of a standard Model M isn't the hardest thing to do either.

I used a Model M at work for a few weeks, and my collegues were quite patient, but then I didn't want to bother them any more. Now I'm using my Novatouch.
