So, I've got a dilema I'd like some advice on. I have a Cherry G80-1306 connected to a VAXstation 4000/90:
It contains vintage Cherry blacks. I need to add VAX/APL key-legends (I know how you guys love the APL character set. I program in it on a VAX for fun ). I've done this previously on a straight DEC LK201 using a DIY Hoolean key label making kit: http://shop.hooleon.com/collections/key ... making-kit.
The resulting keyboard, apart from the labels being slightly too large, has been entirely usable and the stickers are durable.
I didn't have the choice of relegendable keycaps for the DEC keyboard, but I do for a Cherry keyboard. As I see it I have a number of options:
* buy a Hoolean sticker kit and sticker up the Cherry keyboard
* buy a Tipro keyboard and harvest relegendable keycaps
* buy a Cherry-based POS keyboard and harvest relegendable keycaps
* find relegendable keycaps for sale individually, such as on the Hoolean site: http://shop.hooleon.com/collections/key ... legendable
* create a WASD custom keyboard http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/ and harvest the keycaps.
Does anyone have any thoughts? I'm presuming if I use relegendable keycaps that there is no concept of different row profiles which presumably makes it harder to do normal touch typing? What would you do - apart from getting a multi-colour dye-sub set made by SP
Thanks for the help, Mark.
Relegendable keycaps for APL Cherry G80-1306 or stickers???
