Price Check: How much is my _____ worth?

I have one, too, that I accidently bought because of dumbness / ebay gamble, and I'm using it now to glue an MX stem in some keys that are missing from an MX set that I also have. I'd never do that with a whole set though, way too much work. Then I'll keep the controller and the cord and throw the rest out.

What about an G80-1800HFD? Only thing is, I don't have the original case (I got one G80-1851LAMDE or something from ebay to use the case of that one). So, board and everything works perfectly and looks pretty neat, but it's not the original case. Does that have a huge impact on the possible selling price?

I don't really know. I guess it's not a collector's item so much, but people will buy it either to use the whole keyboard or to use the DS keycaps and/or switches. So I don't think it wil make much of a difference if the case is original.

So where would you price it at all?

With quartz clock: $1200, without only $400.

This reply reminds me that you have been in a thread where someone sells a Model M for 800$

It really can be anything you could imagine up to the sky as that elusive quartz crystal have been only found in two documented cases 8-). The rest are crap. Without crystal the thing is as common as dirt against unique in its own kind.

We always compared cases and mount plate thickness, or how jumpers are on which pins and if it is possible to set the jumpers such that they work with a PC, or if they have drainage holes or not etc.

If we only knew what really counts with a keyboard!

Guys this is this board exactly:

I don't know what you mean by super duper crystal clock, but I think this is just a normal ordinary IBM Model F AT that has been acquired in nasty condition and restored by me to be usable today. No mods done, everything original, including super stiff space bar.

This is the later model F. The old one is much better with its hat-caps and small Enter.

The rest in the picture is trash!

Thanks, been reading this forum for long time, registered while ago but didn't post anything. I have been slightly more active on GeekHack under the same name.

So any serious value estimates of my Model F AT? I don't think it's worth $400 but is it worth 150€-200€?

pro tips for having some fun:

1.
- put the boards in for a fixed price of EUR 70/each
- if more than two people interested turn it into auction

2.
- put the boards in for EUR 600/each
- tell everybody that these are prototype 1501'ones having some rare quartz clock inside

;)

xD I already realized you are having quite some fun with some people here in the marketplace. ;)
