IBM USB Keyboard with UltraNav - top mouse buttons not working

I scooped up a nice sk-8835 for my wife as she likes to have a keyboard with a mouse integrated for ergonomic reasons. Getting it to work however has been a bit tricky; the default driver windows 10 installs doesn't support the trackpoint and touchpad. I've installed a bunch of older drivers from the Lenovo website for windows vista, and presto; the touchpad and the trackpoint work as do the mouse buttons below the touchpad. Thing is, the mouse buttons above the touchpad (with the red accents) don't do anything. Does anybody has any experience with this board, or the mentioned issue? I'm curious if the problem is simply driver related, or that it is a hardware issue.

It's a firmware problem on this model. The trackpoint/touchpad behavior is completely unpredictable: I had trackpoint movement report as keystrokes, cursor constantly move in one direction (into a corner of the screen) etc. IIRC I tried at least three different GNU/Linux systems and MS Windows, and each behaved differently.

Ok so its basically a roulette what kind of functions you get... In that case I consider myself lucky with the semi-usable state its in. Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

This worked on my SK-8845. Found it at: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/forums/v3_ ... 808/page/2

1. Download and install the 1.07 driver from: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail. ... MIGR-73235
2. Plug the keyboard in.  At this point the keyboard functions but neither the trackpoint nor the touchpad work.
3. Click Start, Devices & Printers.
4. Under devices, choose "IBM USB Keyboard with UltraNav"  (You won't see this unless you've installed the 1.07 driver).
5. Click the Hardware tab and find the 1st instance of "Synaptics Composit USB HID device"
6. Click Change Settings, select Driver tab and select Update Driver.
7. Click "Browse my computer for driver"
8. Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
9. Select "USB Input Device", then Next, Close, Close.
10.  Your trackpoint should work now.  Repeat steps 5-9 on the 2nd instance of "Synaptics Composit USB HID device" to get the touchpad working as well.
