What bothers me about IBM Model M

You know, we can make custom Model F keyboards now. The only real limitation is the key caps. The cost is ... not horrible even with relatively low production volume. For example, i started designing the thing pictured below just a year ago. The cost for 5 PCB pad cards was $100, 5 controllers $100, 1 case $300. At quantity 10 it would be quite reasonable. Sure, i am not including the cost of the XT keyboard i used for doner switches or the time spent designing and assembling, but i did have those parts already and i feel the time spent was entertaining. If anyone wants to project manage/finance an ergo "F15", i would be happy to design it.

The guy behind the Model F Keyboards made new tooling for the parts required to build an F, maybe we can convince him to keep production alive or act as an OEM for custom boards.
