You're talking about the KBDfans set, right? I can't imagine Matt3o being content with QC issues.

Was /dev/tty really available a few days ago? I'd really like a set for my Novatouch, and I had the e-mail reminder on, but I didn't receive any e-mail that it was back in stock.

In my opinion it is simply a poor term for a keyboard. Also, it does not make any sense to me to try to re-define what "mechanical" means. But I appreciate the effort wrt. trying to sort out the mess.

I agree with Hypersphere, its better to be more specific about what one is referring to.

But did you then avoid having keys that would hesitate when bouncing back after being pressed? The test I used was to do quick alternating presses of neighboring keys to hear if one of them would be noisier on the return (indicating that it had been stuck). I did the same as you, but every time ther...

Chyros; I have to ask, what technique did you use for mounting the domes/springs? I thought I was going insane after I had assembled my HHKB with BKE lights for the 20th (or so, I lost track) time. It was such a pain to avoid any sticky keys that I almost gave up. The experience of typing on the key...

When you say you've travelled with the keyboard, what do you mean? I'm curious because I couldn't see myself travelling (I mean, going on an airplane with a keyboard in my bag) with anything bigger than a HHKB.

HHKB refresh in 2019?

This was also posted on geekhack, but I suppose someone here would be interested too... It seems like a refresh (whathever that means) is coming in 2019 according to the information in the article here: https://www.keychatter.com/2018/11/13/hhkb-professional-refresh-coming-fall-2019/ I'm curious if ...

When I discovered the world of mechanical keyboards (the HHKB) my view on what would be the optimal setup for me changed quite dramatically. Before I bought my first HHKB, I had used as my main keyboards the ones in the MacBook Pros (from when they started having Intel processors, ~2007, to the reti...

Great. Regarding the spectra; it would actually be more informative to plot a spectrogram (which is basically a magnitude spectrum over time), to see how the frequency content varies over time. Just a thought (unfortunately it seems like this is not available in the version of Audacity that I have; ...

Wouldn’t using a tiling window manager more or less solve that? And who in here would oppose against using the keyboard for most tasks? Until the iPad is able to run more of the applications I need, I think my next laptop will also be a MacBook Pro. At least an HHKB fits perfectly on top of the keyb...

But then what is wrong with a tablet (with a touch screen) and a keyboard? I see myself going that way at some point. You decide yourself which keyboard you want to bring, and it's possible to use just the tablet if you're on the couch. If it's about actually being able to use it on your lap, I'm su...

There was a time when I couldn't see the appeal of tablets or laptops with removable keyboards. That changed shortly after I received my first HHKB. Modular is better.

I recently installed ironed soft-landing pads, and they work very well in the Novatouch. They are, however, much more time consuming to iron (they need to be paper thin) and install. They can be bought from maxgaming in Sweden.
