Can you let me know what shipping for the g80-9009HAU is because I have a feeling that it is a rather heavy board.

A lignum vitae case would be amazing, but stupidly expensive and that's even if you could source some + it would be a pain to machine, works more like a metal than a wood!

I think being on one mechanism alone would be a little too niche in a subject which is already niche. Niche. Could it be expanded to mechanical in general?

Not very exciting, but they have very little wear on them, they're yours if you want them. They came from an ALPS Humedia keyboard - the worst keyboard I ever used.

For what It's worth I still notice the bump consistently. I guess it depends how you type.

It's a really nice wood to work with, its almost like working with metal, you can even polish it up to a super high gloss. I have some but not enough to make a case out of.

I'd love to have a case CNC'd out of a block of lignum vitae, but I have the feeling that would cost WAY more than an Alu one.

TAED is a catalyst for the peroxide, it speeds up the process a lot. Did you use just peroxide then?

The caps this technique makes are actually really tough, stronger than one I cast it from.
If I can nail this technique I will try casting with hard jewellers wax so I can do lost wax casting, and from that I can make caps out of any metals I care to try with (but not tungsten).

Key Cap Casting! Try it yourself!

So, I was bored one evening so decided to try casting something with super glue to see how well it would work. It worked really well: http://i.imgur.com/cAZew.jpg As it worked so well I thought I'd have a go at something more 3D, so the natural choice was a key cap. And what do you know it worked (n...
