From the part numbers, I would deduce that it's an M6 switch that came before the M7. However, I can't find any M7 datasheet that would confirm their M7_ part numbers, nor any suggestion that an M6 ever existed. Cherry M61, M62, pages 36-38, with illustration. (This is webwit's link that he posted ...

I discovered this on my own when I opened up my GH guitar. I found it at the same time when I was still researching mechanical keyboards, but didn't own one yet. You may have found this on your own, but there are a few different versions where the internals of the guitar vary. As far as I know, all ...

Re: Case discussions
I don't have one, and I recon it would be troublesome. That design holds onto the edges of the plate, where the Filco plate is bent and has a flange. Couldn't we potentially just get a replacement plate for filcos, and use the same case? I'm certain plenty of people would be interested in this if i...

Got it yesterday, excited to start fooling around with it. Had a little bit of trouble placing the pins in their sockets, it looked like the pins were a few degrees inwards. Not warped, but it seems like when it was soldered they were a little off, and then were stuck there. (No offence to your sold...

It wasn't public for me. I clicked on details and it is restricted access. I had a look at other "fame" keyboards mentioned on GH but those do not have the elusive Aruz switch. I got the name from the manufacturer just by searching the ID number and looking at the page, without clicking on "detail"...

Maybe the clone maker used a short fantasy name starting with an A. That actually would make sense, I would guess the switch was made by the same company who made the board they were found on. Just did a bit of research... It was made by these guys, according to the FCC ID. http://www.tai-hao.com/ ...

Any idea on what "Aruz" is? It always bothers me how a company that was large enough to produce keyboard switches, even if they're no longer around, is not even noted in any documents anywhere. It also bothers me that even a company like Cherry doesn't have any information about their earlier M7 swi...

Re: We need a better adjective than "mechanical".
After reading over this thread, it's pretty clear that we all mostly agree on what we mean by a "mechanical" keyboard, even if we can't exactly agree on what defines it. Rather than finding a synonym for "mechanical", I think we should look at more of what we are looking for in a keyboard. I think w...

Re: Filco tenkeyless custom ATmega32u4 controller
The PCB files have been sent to pcbwing for final checking before they go into production. I usually try to pull off some stunt altering the gerber files. So there may be a few issues to work out before the design passes their DRC. I think they like the challenges I put them up to though... Looking...

I personally really like engraved keycaps, you can get some engraved PBTs on ebay. Most ergonomic LED color? Probably yellow. There's glasses that reduce eye strain while staring at a monitor for hours and hours, and they're tinted yellow. Personally I would just purchase whatever color you think lo...

Have been working on this the past few weeks, it's not totally complete yet, either. I still have to create the switch housing, and fix a few quirks with the assembly. The part files and a few screenshots are attached. My hope with providing the files is so that someone can improve on them. I am cur...

80$, being released this fall. Might actually be really useful for CAD purposes, but in addition to a keyboard and mouse.

A friend of mine showed that to me, pretty cool. I love how you can purchase 3d art that other people have created. Someone should make some 3d keycap models and put them on the site.
