Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

I wonder if the threshold drift and temperature are related. Could the original keyboards have used resistance/impedance as a proxy for temperature and adjusted accordingly? LOL, maybe we need a preheat circuit; like on old valve electronics, just send a slight current through the matrix till it rea...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

When I first got my F77 the software registered a bunch of non existent keys in column 15, they were set as "released" in the layers; I needed to change all of them to "ignored." Otherwise, after half hour of use, random keys would start popping up. I presume those are the ground points for the caps...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

I'll pm you detailed example tonight and why; last day before level 4 lock down here in NZ, off to harvest resources and keep kids entertained. But, essentially you got it exactly right in 2) When I have to switch to a kb in OS, different layers emulate that kb - but keep the actual layout same, as ...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

Saying all that I just picked up on what you said -- 2 layers per language -- what do you mean by language? Do you mean keyboard layout for special characters such as áéóúöőűíșâățî? If yes, then there aren't any usb scancodes for those, languages like that can't be hardcoded into keyboards, those a...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

Arrived this Monday morning as I was heading out to work, for the last day before lock down, lock down came a day early I guess... mixed feelings about the plague today  Kitted it out with some terminal keys for now. I will write a bigger comment with some thoughts, but, overall; it's blimin' ...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

Well... now I feel old, I remember when manufacturers would slap crinkle finish on anything that they wanted to "say" quality. It used to be a way to offer a more durable protection, when anodising was black magic, and was put on early technical and electric devices. Since they were reserved for the...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

Just FYI, you can get heat shrink with different coating on the outside. There's even some with PTFE that forms a hard, slippery, surface. Also, different thickness, if you want more "meat" around the wire. Electrical tape gets brittle with time and the adhesive isn't meant to be permanent. The whol...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

Wow, just wow... People are complaining about others getting keyboards earlier, EVEN THOUGH IT WON'T AFFECT WHEN THEY GET THEIRS, might even help speed things along! (And, they still get preferential treatment - when their order can be completed...) Everyday, the human race turns out to be a bit pet...

My APL keyset was fine with alignment ( https://www.pckeyboard.com/page/product/USAPLSET .) Quality and feel wise they were same as my two-piece, square badge, model M keys. But, they are two piece... I'd be bit torn putting them in an F77; although... APL!

Honestly, the single arrow tab looks a lot cleaner and matches the remaining legends better. Once there are more of these keyboards in the wild, I'm sure we will see group buys for alternative key sets. I, for one, will live in hope that Red Samurai will be released for bucking spring keyboards- one...

NZ had an exemption on paying vat under 400$, it gets revoked next month, so I'm going to have to cough up 15%. After all this time, missed it by a couple months, because... life?
Tbh, I'm just happy to see it come together, hard to get annoyed about customs.

If it's a Taiwanese board, the '73' in the date stamp may refer to their era calendar, which is ~1984. 1984 is the manufacturing date on the PCB, which makes perfect sense, well spotted. I should have got that, having had to deal with exporting stuff to ROC. It just didn't cross over to the electro...
