Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

Give those factory peasants hell ellipse!
My f62 thankfully hasn't deteriorated as of yet, it did however arrive with a few imperfections in the powdercoat, but I don't care too much. If it comes to it I'll just get a thicker black paint job done.

So what do we do if our paint job deteriorates as a result of crap powdercoat jobs?

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

Thanks tentator and pandrew for the updates regarding the new firmware. It is great to have multiple options regarding firmware and software to help ensure these keyboards work for decades more. To answer your questions: 1. They are the exact same layout on the F62 and F77 capacitive PCBs as the or...

Re: Unicomp SSK delayed, new Model M design coming

USB A is absolutely fine.

I don't understand why Micro was ever used, it is the flimsiest connector I've ever seen. One slightly wrong move of the cable when its not mounted to a case will rip your connector off the board.
Not suitable at all for seemingly 'rugged' keyboards.

I've bought a couple of these. The blue badge is lame but was able to get a couple black badge repro pcb badges from Wobbled. https://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-Model-M-Industrial-Black-Replacement-Oval-Badge/163867429621?hash=item2627428af5:g:Un0AAOSwlINdgRCs 12 pounds ! Nope, the blue badges are flat stickers

Replica black badges are flat pieces of PCB

Industrial IBM badges are metal stickers with raised silver text

Keep retrobrighting it, the keyboard will only get so white. Just leave it in the sun for as long as you can and it should even out. Seen this before on my HHKB

Can confirm, Lenovo Preferred Pro is a nice feeling, cheap, readily available rubber dome keyboard. The feel is very soft, which could be mistaken for mushy feel, this however does offer some nice smooth tactility. If tactility and sound is what you're after, find a BTC Dome w/ Slider board. And fin...

I'm really not happy with the shipping charges. A courier should've been used for this as their customs charges are always more reasonable. I've just been charged £85 custom fees. Too bulky
Uncomfortable keycap height
Too overpriced
Keycaps wobble significantly
Overrated as all fuck because of one guy deciding they're hot shit, then everyone else assuming they are a flawless end game.

In summary: A good clicky switch with absolutely nothing else going for it.
