May I ask what type of solenoid you used in this picture here? I am interested in finding one for a Model F using the xwhatsit controller and it seems the IBM ones are tough to come by. Was hoping to find something compatible on eBay.

I got them from Taobao . And you can find them on ...

All components are soldered, including Atmega32u4 controller.

They are different, SKCC plate hole size is 14mm but Omron is 13.5mm.

My NOS tactile white swithces from taobao are more wobbly than alps sliders, how about yours?

My DC-2014 uses long white switchplate blue Alps, I think they sound better than grey switchplate ones.

Pretty sure 'FD' means ForwarD Electronics. I don't think they are pre-Alps blues, some early blues have black switchplate, as far as I know.

Really weird keyboard, I thought they were normal SKCM blues.
But most of them have 'FD' logo on the bottom! (not SKBM, grey switchplate)
Unfortunately, I thrown out the PCB yesterday, so no more useful information

Make sure you have clear photos of caps, or you can't put them back to the right place after you take them off

Hey guys, I found a acer 6023 keyboard long ago and I have time to clean it today.
I thought they were faded skcm blues but there are some bulges in the stem :o
Remind me of gainsborough's KB-101A/TK
So they are not faded blues?
Any other ALPS stem like this?

IBM 5556 Multistation Keyboards

I tested the solenoid using a Xwhatsit solenoid driver and it works great. There is enough space for them in the plastic case.
The new version of PCB will be done very soon.

Do the Alps stabilizers have enough clearance from the B3G-S switches?

They are running smoothly, my few keys are overly thick for B3G-S (F, J, Spacebars). Most of alps caps should be fine.

I don't want to run a GB because price of pcb+plate is about $20, but shipping fee will be more than $30 from China. That's really weird.

I can confirm. Maybe you can try to get some IBM 5556 caps, they are made for skcl greens.

I used FR-4 plate so it's pingless and I'm working on adding a solenoid or buzzer.
Switches are NOS from TaoBao, alpha keys feel great but I still need to lube multi wide keys to make them better.
