Well the Poker with black switches is at the post office waiting to be picked up. I went ahead and purchased one with black switches. I figure if I'm not happy with the black switches it won't be very hard to mod.

Browns and reds are very similar, they use the same spring. If you find the browns okay (not too light) and only want to get rid of the tactile bump, chances are you'll love the reds. Well I didn't really find the browns too light but I have tried more mechanical keyboards out since I started this ...

And I believe that the last keyboard that released NKRO over USB had issues being compatible with Macs because of it. I honestly don't see the point in needing more than 6KRO.

Haha I sent in my order three days ago. Still waiting for my order to be processed. I hope the redesigning of the Unicomp website doesn't delay me receiving my keyboard. :|

I see. Can anyone comment on the feel of the two piece ones versus that single piece keys. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that one of them felt and sounded better than the other but I can't remember which one it was. I will most likely be ordering a blank black set so I am curious as to which ...

But did the keys that came on the original board single or two piece? And can you interchange the single and two piece key caps?

I don't think I will mind the heavier keys. I haven't tried BS but I have been on blues for a few days and I really enjoy them, and if BS are like blues but a little heavier with more tactility and crispness than I believe I will like them even more. But I have been wondering. Are they keys that com...

Well if I were to buy a mini then I would definitely want it in a linear switch so it would be quiet enough to use in public places. In my eyes that is the whole point of a mini is to be able to take it places and use it without getting kicked out of the library.

Well my situation is kind of complicated, and this complication is mostly self inflicted, but hear me out. I have a Leopold TKL with browns that I don't like. I love the Leopold board, but do not like the brown switches. Now I have two pathways I could go, buy a mini board, with black or red switche...

I understand that the Unicomp's size is similar to that of a full sized keyboard. I have a TKL Leopold with brown switches (which I dislike) and I do love the size and form factor of the keyboard. But I have been trying out a friend's Black Widow and I still have plenty of room on my desk. So I'm no...

It may be a little bigger than I really want, but I feel that is an acceptable sacrifice to make to obtain the buckling springs. As far as the IBM Model M space saver goes I'm very weary of buying these. I've seen some in good condition go for close to 200USD, a lot more than I am willing to spend f...

My room mate let me use his Black Widow for a couple days and I really enjoy typing on the blues. I've decided to go buckling spring because I really enjoy the tactility and click from the blue keys, and having buckling springs will only amplify the things I enjoy about the blues, while being a tad ...

I'm glad to hear that you can play TF2 without any problems because that is really the only game I play. I'm typing on my friends Black Widow and I'm loving the blue switches. I imagine that the Buckling Springs will be even more tactile and more clicky so I cannot wait. I will be sending in my orde...

A wiki confirmed that the Unicomp is only 2KRO. I've heard that this shouldn't effect many games that people play. But I would still like to hear from people that game occasionally and how 2KRO effects them.

Questions about Unicomp Space Saver

Hello all. I'm extremely interested in buying a Unicomp Space saver keyboard. Because I have never tried a buckling spring keyboard, I cannot say that I like the feel, but from how it's described there is very little doubt that I will love it. I also enjoy the sound the keys make. But I still have a...

Red vs Black Switches

Hello all. After using brown switches for almost a month now, I've become increasingly agitated with this "tactile" switch. The small bump it provides is unnoticeable during normal typing, and thus provides me with little feedback on if my key has actuated or not. And this really got me thinking, wh...

Thanks for the replies! I have to admit I am a little nervous about the MX Brown switches. When researching the various Cherry switches I concluded that brown was well liked by people who played games and typed essays. It wasn't until I found this site that I saw some hate for the Brown Switches. Pe...

Bottoming out

I'm curious as to how many of you bottom out the keys when you type. I have a leopold tenkeyless with mx brown switches on the way and I have read in some threads that it takes awhile to be able to type on the brown switches without bottoming out. I understand the tactile feedback that the brown swi...
