Re: [IC] NOS SKCL Green Alps
Brought out the pingmaster today. So smooth but excited to possibly get a more modern board together with the skcl greens. Does anyone know of a decent TKL alps compatible pcb?

Wasn’t sure how many keys to put for the full module, listed 68. Thanks.

Who can resist a gathering of force curve nerds ;) someday there might be enough of us for a dedicated thread! IMO the combination of light, linear, quiet switches is probably a more sophisticated preference than any other I can think of, in the same sense that a vegetarian (or vegan, etc.) diet is ...

Cherry mx switches are inherently linear … People say this, but what do they mean? What precisely is and is not allowed in a tactile switch? There's a lot of variation in force curves. For example, Marquardt designed a switch where the force drops then hits a wall instead of rising and falling: htt...

Removed the other PCB that was obstructing but there was nothing underneath. Maybe the sticker could be on the side with the switches somewhere. I'll check the other side when I remove the switches... There are two pins on an orthogonal line, which jives with the fact that these don't feel like ther...

Another update on the typewriter keyboards.. http://i.imgur.com/3tWN86R.jpg?2 The seller mentioned that this particular board was pretty unique out of the ones he had because it was manufactured in Sweden. It was a toss-in because I didn't have correct change actually. I thought it was the side-angl...

Update for one of the typewriter keyboards yesterday.. The linear switch I couldn't ID seems like it could be https://deskthority.net/wiki/Mitsumi_simplified . I removed a PCB that was obstructing the view of the back of the PCB that has all the switches soldered to it. Underneath that is a Mitsumi ...

I found some switches I couldn't identify today. They're all from typewriter keyboards. http://imgur.com/ShGr2cQ The first and last boards I'm not sure about at all. The first one feels very heavy and either has weak tactility or is linear. The second looks like tall cream alps, but is clicky (not j...

QUESTION about Alps replacement springs: How to determine which weight to get? What is the correspondence between the weight rating of the spring and the actuation or bottom-out force of Alps switches? (Please forgive my cross-posting. I also posted this info and inquiry in a necropost on Alps spri...

Has anyone tried these? https://mekanisk.co/collections/keyboard-parts/products/gold-alps-springs-made-for-alps-keyboards I'm really enjoying the quiet click life right now, but am thinking about trying some heavier springs in hopes of a snappier upstroke. Sharper MX Clears without that obnoxious pi...

Dear Oracle, I've at last found the layout I've been seeking on the FKB 89J keyboard. Keys for thumbs of the appropriate size to be useful. It is more compact than JIS Realforce TKL boards, but respects the old ways like not mixing totally different spacing conventions, unlike HHKB JP. It seemingly ...

Nice, rarely see anyone else driving G20s. I posted a review on the product page (for a dye sublimated set) over at PMK a few days ago. Unfortunately, it seems that reviews must be at least 4/5 or some get through some other form of biased moderation to make it to the product page. So I assume that ...
