Re: Adapter to use Model M keycaps on Cherry MX stem?

The size of IBM caps and the uniform profile would probably make it rather uncomfortable to use. Also stabilized keys will likely be an issue cause you'd have to cut the stuff on the inside away.

Re: my CHERRY MY TYPE 2 keyboard

Type 3 MY-Switches are pretty much always trash from my experience, Type 1 and 2 can compete with vintage MX imo. It's only the force curve which completely ruins the switch. These white MY type 2 switches are kinda rare and a nice novelty, sadly still shit from today's point of view.

Re: What is the best Topre keyboard for gaming and general use?

Should be alright if you game on esdf though. R1 realforce boards are 6kro afaik so for some people it can be limiting, but that's only a small amount of games where you need to press 7 keys at once

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

Scrolling through ebay this morning and found this mysterious gem . Some googling revealed that this is a keyboard for IBM PC clones made in Taiwan. One person found MX Black switches in it but it was from a beige colored keyboard. Maybe someone here is willing to take a chance on it for <$100USD s...

Dyesub is worse than doubleshot. Definitely, and many PBT caps feel worse than ABS. Not sure why people hype og cherry dyesubs  quantity of tactility is a stupid metric True. Re: Vintage Cherry G80-1134 HAX with dual keycaps

Interesting board with lovely keycaps. Looks like these ones and the German Zenith G80-1192 boards both have these versions with the Lösch keys. I think the German Zenith ones are HAX boards as well. I personally got a set of "Denglish" caps from a G80-1000 HBD but they have the normal Entf keys.

Re: THE SORA COVER review — The best keyboard acrylic dust cover!

Wow, I totally missed this thread, thanks for bumping it with your update and for sharing your experiences. This looks like a very solid choice as a keyboard cover (as you mentioned it can be fairly difficult to find covers for vintage "oversized" boards or modern smaller boards). And it's even nice...

Looks fine to me, especially as it's only in one direction due to the "Walzrichtung". It adds to the industrial look, you could think that it's intended to look like this on the pictures.

Re: Topre Realforce R2 6-key rollover issue?

It's a software 'issue'. An input device over USB is always limited to 6kro, you can only reach higher kro when a keyboard controller works as multiple keyboards. So eg for 12kro over USB your board must register as 2 keyboards on your PC, for 18kro it's registered as 3 keyboards and so on. Looks li...

I personally don't really care whether my board is iso or ansi, I can get used to both. I mainly care that my board/layout is German. Most of my boards are normal iso-de but I also use and love my hhkb (but of course with German layout).

Re: Yet another beamspring refurb (5251)

UV exposure can be the reason for yellowing but sometimes there are other reasons. It depends on the used plastic. On my Beamspring only engraved keycaps were yellowed, I don't think that peroxide would help then. I'd rather keep it the way it currently is instead of taking the risk
