Re: Keystone Hall-Effect Keyboard.

I really hope this could solve all the APT problems and be a truely great switch It's a start and like all beginning's be prepared for faults and digressions. After all this is something where NO other company is ever going to tread through, so don't ever think anyone like Cherry would ever follow ...

Re: Kailh Switch Series, which one is your favorite?

To sum it up I will give an example: as long as the average joe who buys a gaming keyboard is fine with the plasticy click of an MX Blue switch, maybe because he does not know better, Cherry will keep producing millions of it as their main clicky switch. The Average "Joe" is the quintessential Cher...

Re: Keystone Hall-Effect Keyboard.

Hope the keyboard has good acoustics cause my APT keyboard has switches that are rattly and the stabilizers sound as bad as they feel ._. They need to use some solid Aluminium, as the case structure here. It's non metallic hence no influence on the magnets at all. Didn't know why anyone hasn't yet ...

Re: Keystone Hall-Effect Keyboard.

Sweet, it's public now. I collaborated a little bit with IC to provide some design input for this board. Though I admittedly did very little, spiritually this is what I consider to be what Round 3 would have been of my boards. Great job IC team! Just as long as it has authentic XMIT links to this n...

Re: KBParadise V80 review (Matias Quiet Click)

Apparently the quality control issues with Matias switches has been a relatively recent problem. I have several KBP V60 keyboards with Matias Click or Matias Quiet switches, and they all work as intended. Probably Matias changed manufacturers because he obviously got a very low bid from a competito...

Re: Meanwhile in Australia…

Birds love to murder keyboards. It's almost a pastime. Looks to be a tamed bird. If it was wild, it would never get into a closed space no matter what. Unless of course it was laying eggs and/or establishing a nest for herself/himself. Never had any kind of wild bird, break and enter my house or ga...

Re: BOX switches STILL cracking keycaps!

In the US, use Novelkeys. In Europe, use Candykeys. Both are selling retooled only for sure. Even KBDFans seems to be selling retooled only nowadays. Stay clear of ebay box switches unless you find the seller to be trustworthy. Thank you, I was never going to STOP buying any Box switches anyway ;) ...

Re: BOX switches STILL cracking keycaps!

Just make sure you aren't buying pre-retool ones. Easier said than done. The retailers are NOT ever going to tell you that their stock is the cursed key-cap damaging ones. Also now there are a lot more BOX Whites in Keyboards being offloaded onto Ebay these days. What are the odds every single one ...

Re: Price Check: How much is my _____ worth?

How much are Brown Alps going for? I'm specifically looking for brown alps with a dimpled contact leaf and I don't know if that would make a difference. Brown Alps are now officially worth far more than any Blue Alps (simply due to their extreme rarity). Be prepared for some serious Wallet Gaping e...

Lol. I have a couple of Unicomps. You are right, fit and finish is far from excellent, with large gaps, but this is usually limited to the case. The keys themselves are spot on. At least on mine. Haven't bought another Unicomp for some years now, so I would be interested in buying another TODAY jus...

Re: Soviet Model F clone with capacitive buckling springs

In true eastern bloc fashion the fit and finish seems a little off with crooked keys and whatnot, but it is still a really cool and rare find. They functioned much like today's Unicomp, crooked placement of keys and dye-sub arrangement has been their normal operation for some time now ;) . At least...

However, I have not tried the high-profile Topre keycaps. I wonder if they add enough weight (compared to the standard profile) that 45g might feel too light? First for me as well. I'll see how they work with these SA inspired caps. Just wish they were more available for the Thorpie-line of keyboar...

Why not just clickify SKCM Black?
Correct.

You already have the original Click leaf inside the switch.

Bend the little bugger a little to make it louder and feel the click, with your fingers ;) .
