Re: Tai-Hao Olivette in Alps mount may return!

Inspired by this thread I also sent them a message a couple of days ago, and got a promising reply today! This from an email on July 11, 2019: olivettes.jpg It looks like they are thinking about doing a production run in late summer or early fall 2019, and not a group buy. (Or at least make another...

Re: Alps Appreciation

Finally found a NOS Alps keyboard after several junk ones. Apple AEKII with SKCM Alps White dampened. I think I'm gonna desolder these switches for my ALPS64 build. (Since the 2nd GB run for those NOS SKCM White Alps did not go through  ) Stupefying CRIME to do that. This original keyboard is ...

Re: Input Club Beamspring-like? new board

I jumped into the Kickstarter for one of the full-size boards and a side of Silo beamspringers. It'll be a year (probably longer, since no project with any ambitions comes in on schedule) before I get to use it and decide if it will supplant my Realforce RGB. But that gives me something to look for...

Thanks for another great review of a TERRIBAD company.

Sometimes, I am even looking forward to the final - (Great) Stock Market Crash, to finally eliminate these awful companies that have no right to exist in the first place.

Re: [Computex 2019] Leopold: new switches, Bluetooth, OEM-profile keycaps

Yeah, Hardware Canucks' video indicate that they could be using a stiffer kind of foam than classic foam-and-foil keyboards. I dunno... You've got superior foam and plastics now being produced, that would outlast the life time of us here on this forum. Not worried about Leopold going down this rout...

Re: Unicomp SSKs are coming later this year

Full disclosure: it's really more beige than white and a few of the custom keycap legends I ordered were very slightly misaligned. But overall, it's a great value and a great keyboard. ALL of their newly produced Key-caps are misaligned - using the eyes of any DT fanatic here on this forum. Hence n...

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

Alps Blue switches are different story, I lubed one slider but it made the switch worse. It didn't feel as smooth as switches with original lubing. Now ordering some PTFE powder to see if it's any better. Did you know if the Blue Alps switches already have their original lube applied that the new a...

Re: Modern Beamspring? - The Silo Beam Switch

Beamsprings for the REST of us.

Now this is becoming a a proper switch which should gain full support as time progresses.

Sick and tired of seeing $2000-5000USD various keyboard models for sale on Ebay. Just hope this new Beam Spring doesn't follow the very same price guide line as well.

Re: Kailh Switch Series, which one is your favorite?

To sum it up I will give an example: as long as the average joe who buys a gaming keyboard is fine with the plasticy click of an MX Blue switch, maybe because he does not know better, Cherry will keep producing millions of it as their main clicky switch. The Average "Joe" is the quintessential Cher...

Hope the keyboard has good acoustics cause my APT keyboard has switches that are rattly and the stabilizers sound as bad as they feel ._. How much are Brown Alps going for? I'm specifically looking for brown alps with a dimpled contact leaf and I don't know if that would make a difference. Lol. I have a couple of Unicomps. You are right, fit and finish is far from excellent, with large gaps, but this is usually limited to the case. The keys themselves are spot on. At least on mine. Re: Soviet Model F clone with capacitive buckling springs

In true eastern bloc fashion the fit and finish seems a little off with crooked keys and whatnot, but it is still a really cool and rare find. They functioned much like today's Unicomp, crooked placement of keys and dye-sub arrangement has been their normal operation for some time now ;) . At least...
