Re: Classic Style FSSK Model F vs. Unicomp Mini M
IBM Model Ms have a reputation of being sturdy and long-lasting. I have used some of them for many years and not always gently (when I was a kid). I had never had any issue with keys not registering nor having to reseat or replace springs. I didn't know Model Fs were so much more fragile, sensitive ...

Re: Dear Model F owners, can we talk? (Long rant)
Yes, it was my initial choice. The photos on the website look quite ugly, more like brown rather than gray, but I understand the real color is closer to the original gray I can see from other photos of old industrial Model Ms.

Which one would you choose, the Classic Style F104 in off-white/beige or in industrial gray?

Sorry, I meant "a priori". It's an expression in Latin.

Re: Dear Model F owners, can we talk? (Long rant)
It was fun reading the OP's message. It's true that people on the Internet tend to exaggerate everything. It's also true that, to some extent, we all like bragging when we have the best of the best. However, I don't think think that's a reason not to be sensible. I have never tried a Model F, but I ...

I own a FC980M. I didn't like the nav cluster there. Actually, I never use the nav cluster in 100% keyboards, but the numpad instead. So, bought a keycap set for the 900R and used some of its keycaps. I wanted the printscreen and the pause keycaps back to their standard location. I use printscreen f...

Finally, the detachable cable is a good thing, but why not a good braided cable instead of a standard rubber cable? For a premium keyboard like this it would have been a better choice. At least here the states the FC980M runs $119 USD shipped. That's not premium - that's entry level. I think you'll...

I've had a couple of Unicomps Ultra Classics bought some months ago and I ended up selling them. One of them had all the legends vertically misaligned (touching the edge of the keycaps in some cases). The other one had a stain in one of the keycaps. In both boards the case creaked with only resting ...

Leopold FC980M with MX blacks
http://i65.tinypic.com/awyr94.jpg Some months ago I purchased a Leopold FC980M with red switches, which I found to be too light and too scratchy. I returned it inmediately (by the way, amazing service by http://www.mykeyboard.eu). I decided to try a Unicomp Ultraclassic, but it was a big disappoint...

I use the US International layout for my ANSI keyboard, but I have adapted it to suit my needs using Autohotkey. So, for instance, I've mapped the Spanish ñ to the right control (or menu or right window key) and some combinations are changed so that they are easy to remember and more intuitive. So, ...

This layout would be perfect for me except for the positions of the home, pgup, end and pgdown positions on the numpad. I'm used to the standard positions of these keys in traditional layouts and I use them a lot for browsing text documents. For a long time I thought that the only solution for me wa...

Hey, how is it going with stocking the ISO Leopolds? I couldn't find them anywhere on the web. I'd be interested in FC660M ISO UK w/ MX Blue. Thanks! Here you can read that they are still "in manufacturing", so I suppose you'll still have to wait for one or two months: https://www.candykeys.com/ord...

Out of stock, the European nightmare
I've been waiting for more than 2 months and both Candykeys and Mykeyboard.eu are out of stock of 90% of the Leopold keyboard they have on catalog. What's going on with the deliveries to them? I'm really desperate to get my FC980M with MX reds. I think I'll wait until the end of February but if ther...

I'm waiting for a ANSI FC980M with browns in stock. However, I'm also considering the FC980C, despite its price, because I'd really like to try Topres. The only thing that prevents me from placing my order is the ABS spacebar. Do you know if the black PBT spacebar that is sold by http://www.keyboard...

I got this tester some days ago. The delivery was really quick. I already had a MX switches tester that I bought from China (which took more than one month to arrive). It's very basic but has blue, brown, red, black, green, clear, white, grey and linear grey. I ordered the tester by Cooler Master be...

I've had a Model M for many years and I finally sold it. It's a fantastic keyboard and, as regards performance, it's unbeatable, but I wanted something more pleasurable to type on. I find Cherry switches more refined and less crude, both in how the feel and how they sound. I'd really like to try a b...

Leopold FC900R, should I order it?
Hi. I'm the user of Tesoro Durandal G1N with blacks and now I want to upgrade to a more high-end keyboard (100% keyboard). I've been considering the acclaimed Filco Majestouch 2 (maybe with browns), but, looking at its price, it's a shame it comes with thin abs keycaps and even with printed legends....
