Re: Finally a proper case for the Vortex ViBE

Beautiful... but a huge shame. Mac 128k/512k/Plus keyboards are expensive enough as it is, I'd rather not be paying $300 for one of them in a few year's time when everybody has cannibalized their cases :(

IBM PC 5150/5160 XT Model F

Hey all, just posting a link to my $0.99 auction for a PC 5150 Model F. I was able to test it with an IBM PC 5155 portable in November last year and it was working fine, but I no longer own any XT keyboard compatible computers to test it with. The spacebar is wobbly and some googling tells me it's o...

[WTB] Tandy 1000 Keyboard

Hey all,

I'm looking for a Tandy 1000 keyboard to go with my newly acquired Tandy 1000 SX computer. I'm based in Sydney, but am more than willing to pay for international postage from other countries. PM me!

Cheers,
- Chief

Re: Fixing a Commodore SX-64 keyboard - alternative to "Graphit 33" conductive spray?

How about aluminium tape ? https://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/adhesives-sealants-tapes/tapes/aluminium-tapes/ THe surface may be protected with something but you can just rub it off with a scotchbrite I thought about this, but ultimately I feel it will be too fiddly and time consuming - at that point I...

Re: Fixing a Commodore SX-64 keyboard - alternative to "Graphit 33" conductive spray?

Maybe a silver ink conductive pen will work fine. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Conductive-Silver-Ink-Pen-Writer-Circuit-Marker-50-Silver-CSIP-998/222892596383?hash=item33e56f1c9f:g:kJIAAOSwImRYCx2P:rk:1:pf:0 I've heard the same thing about using those conductive silver pens as using a graphite pencill,...

Re: Fixing a Commodore SX-64 keyboard - alternative to "Graphit 33" conductive spray?

If you want, you can use a graphite pencil but make sure it's graphite. You can just rub some on. I have fixed two of these keyboards and I have never had to use anything. Just a good cleaning should fix them. If I recall correctly, I used an eraser to clean the rubber tips. Good luck. Disassemblin...

Fixing a Commodore SX-64 keyboard - alternative to "Graphit 33" conductive spray?

Hey all, I recently acquired a Commodore SX-64 and the keyboard is really hit or miss. Some keys either required hard presses or multiple presses, and others didn't work at all. I followed this tutorial and disassembled it: http://wolfgang-langer.com/commodore-sx64-keyboard-repair/ My keyboard appea...

Wow, that was fast, thank you so much for the help! I also got a reply on VOGONS (https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=65050) so I should be able to wire this up now, but I bet I'll be back to ask a stupid question at some point

IBM 8503 Monochrome VGA Monitor - Cut cable!

Hey all. I was recently given an IBM model 8503-004 monochrome monitor but the VGA cable has been cut. Would anyone happen to have this same monitor and be able to open theirs up? It would be very simple to figure out the pinout - the cable connects inside to the neck board and mainboard using 2 soc...

Great suggestions guys, thanks! What about the Cherry G84? I know it was available definitely in the mid 90ies, not sure when it was introduced. But it's quite tiny and mechanical (with ML switches). https://deskthority.net/wiki/Cherry_G84-4100 Ah yes, I've always liked the look of this one, but app...

With a description like that, you might want to show us a pic so we know what you’re talking about! Off the top of my head, there wasn’t anything (mechanical) smaller than the K110 back then, but I know I’m good at forgetting the perfectly obvious so I quite expect someone to point that out. What's the smallest ever mechanical AT or PS/2 keyboard?

Hey all, I was browsing some auction sites today and came across an absolutely TINY DOS PC - like, I'm talking around 2 and a half 3.5" floppy drives wide, and maybe 1 and a half deep. It must be the smallest DOS PC I've ever seen and I want it so badly, but the seller has it ridiculously priced and...

Ah yes, I remember seeing these when they were selling them - a bit expensive for what the hardware was at the time, if I recall. I guess you were paying for the novelty more than anything else.

Amstrad PC1512 Keyboard and Mouse

Hey all, I'm looking for the keyboard and mouse for an Amstrad PC1512 computer. They must be the English versions, not the Schneider one or an AZERTY one. If you've got a keyboard and/or mouse, please reply to this thread and send me a PM if you've got one or know where I can get one for a fair pric...

So how did you go about derusting it? Vinegar will stop the oxidation but remember that the exposed metal is then even more susceptible to rust until you get something on it. Sandpaper or steel wool will remove surface rust, maybe a bit of grinding if it is really bad. In the US some "Rustoleum" pa...

So how did you go about derusting it? How do you know that there isn't rust further beneath the surface? I'm not questioning the quality of your work, just asking for my own current restoration project. :)

Very impressive! From the photos it looks like it reflects light quite easily, has this been a problem for you when using it? My computer is right by a window that I often have open, so if I had this keyboard I would be blinded 90% of the time :P
