Tina, Alps64, custom copper plate, linear-modded un-damped Creams w/ 70cn springs. Will be putting DCS Alpine Winter on this in 7u HHKB layout, just need to sort out the stabilizers really. I had originally click-modded the damped Creams after refurbing them but I just wasn't happy with the consiste...

Thanks for the replies re: 6u stabilisers guys. I've kinda conceded that it's more hassle than it's worth for the build I have planned, so I've sold the case I was going to use (full HHKB-sized blockers) and bought a similar one with equal sized corner blockers, which should allow me to use a regula...

Quick question guys - I'm ordering an HHKB plate for an Alps build - like this: http://i.imgur.com/ITDvQBt.png

Question is what stabs will I need to use for the 6u space bar? I'm planning to use the Alpine Winter set (made by Signature Plastics)

Cheers guys! I actually don't mind the yellow space bar too much, I think it adds a touch of patina to the board haha.

But I will probably attempt whitening anyway for uniformity, so appreciate the advice!

It's a good combo! I like it because it feels like it's still loyal to the original keyboard, but smaller and more modern

Hi dude. Well for starters, all the parts for this board, I bought separately. So the case I already owned, the PCB was from a groupbuy, the plate from another groupbuy. The caps I bought from MechMarket a while ago, so I never saw the original donor board, but they came with the original AEK stabil...

Built the first of my Alps64 boards: AEK60. Alps64 PCB, SKCM Orange Alps (stripped, ultrasonic cleaned and dry-lubed; 70cN springs, 85cN space), stainless steel AEK plate, high profile alu case w/ stainless weight and sound dampening, AEK caps (ultrasonic cleaned) and stabs. https://i.imgur.com/vtLw...

Can anyone help me locate a 6u space bar? Any old boards that came with one, or does anyone have one lying around they'd be willing to sell?

I have a kit on it's way to me that has a true-HHKB bottom row, so I need that elusive 6u space :)

Not sure if you can get separate leafs, I wouldn't think so, if I'm honest. Though you could get individual Cream Damped + Matias Click switches from ebay or classifieds for a few dollars? I think it's generally worth a small investment for some sacrificial loose switches to test things on

Been messing around with a few SKCM Cream Damped I have loose.. I'd click modded one of them, which feels quite nice, so I decided to swap in the click leaf from a Matias switch - it's a tad shorter than the Alps leaf, but fit together without issue. Feel-wise, it's practically the same, maybe sligh...

Any more info on the stabilizers that came with the random keyset? Can you link the auction that they came from? Thanks! Swapped the Alpine Winter mods for BadWrench mods on my V60. Also replace the MX-style stab inserts (left) with whatever the ones on the right are called, from a random spare keyset I got off ebay. Massively reduced wobble, which was letting the keyboard down, much better now. The right shift still ...

Which nVidia card do you run it with? I'm wondering if there is a wide, curved monitor out there that could take full advantage of a 1080 card and deliver a minimum of 90fps in iRacing. I simply don't have room for a triple-monitor setup... GTX 1080, it's a Palit Super Jetstream. Great card, big ol...

Thanks. The monitor is an Acer XR342CK, so a 34" curved 21:9. The panel is 3440x1440 IPS, refresh rate is 75Hz. It does support FreeSync / Adaptive Sync but not G-Sync so it doesn't pair up to my nVidia GPU fully in that regard.. But taking into account the games I play, I opted for the higher resol...

I have a dog. He's savage

But no, basically to keep it cleaner and unmarked. I know that no matter how careful I am it'll get bumped if it's on the floor and attract more dust. Plus why have a nice window if I can't sit and look through it haha.

I'm told that in terms of Pok3r-compatible cases, three mount holes line up with KBP V60s made from 2016 and later. Oh that is good to know! I'll have to do some disassembly to see what my PCB looks like. I saw a post on Geekhack I think, from a while ago, showing the undrilled mounting holes on th...

My setup is constantly changing but this is a snap I got a couple weeks ago. I've had the iMac for 4 or 5 years but just built the PC etc in the last few months after moving away from console gaming (my first build). Awesome! Yeah it was a choice between the Pok3r which I kinda preferred, or the KBP with an untested switch. Definitely worth it though. I saw the group buy for the next LightCycle set - March it opens I believe? That'll be worth joining for sure. Be interested to see how you get on with the case sw...

lack of interest is always the biggest issue with any Alps keycap group buy. Just isn't enough compatible keyboards, really. Have faith, we can make it happen! I agree with some earlier comments though, what we also need IMO is a base Alpha set that would encourage people to put out more custom mod...

Hi, just registered after finding this thread, came over from GH / r/MK. I'm fully in for this project. As a relatively-recent Alps convert, I've been searching high and low for Alps-compatible caps and sets. The basic modifier kit would be plenty for me as I use predominantly 60% - though I might e...
