Hi Scarpia,

"Doug Engelbart began experimenting with keysets to use with the mouse in the mid 1960s [...] Engelbart used the keyset with his left hand and the mouse with his right to type text and enter commands."

A very short video demo of an Arduino recreation of Doug's keyset

I had toyed ...

Anybody using a one handed chord keyboard like the BAT or Twiddler? BAT has 7 keys and Twiddler has 16 plus a track point. They leave one hand open for the mouse if you like. Here is another called DecaTxt because it has ten keys. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLlKSmFSwjM

or you can go with a real minimalist keyboard and chord most things. DecaTxt is one-handed so you never have to drop the mouse to type. It's Bluetooth so you don't even need to sit at the desk to type and it works with BLE tablets & phones. If you want more than 10 keys, try the Twiddler 3 (it has ...

We just completed development of our one-handed Bluetooth LE keyboard called DecaTxt and built 100 of them last month. It's a ten-key chord keyboard about the size of a deck of cards and can be used with either hand. I sent out some to folks who supported our crowdfunding campaign but still have ...

True, best to have a heads-up display to keep your field of vision on the road. That is how we will be showing it at CES next week.

A bit too early to tell, we have only shared it with a few to test and because it is based on sequential pressing, it can't be as fast as slapping keys on QWERTY. The advantage is it is easier to touch-type in the mobile space and safer behind a steering wheel. You may find this interesting. http ...

Launching a new Chord keyboard at CES

We have developed a new ten key keyboard using mostly two finger chords and will be showing it at CES in Las Vegas next week. I'd like to invite anyone attending to visit our booth 73409 and give it a test run. We have also started it as a project on kickstarter.com so if anyone is interested in ...
