Yes I much preferred this since the matias dampened sliders felt really mushy too me on the downstroke. I prefer the upstroke to be silenced though. I kept the numbers on the keyboard for a few days stock and would compare from time to time, once the upstroke was dampened the board was a tad quieter...

HI Guys thought I would share with your my recent attempts at modding my blue alps. Firstly I don't really think that the blue alps require modding, they are an excellent switch stock and modding was only for my peculiar interest I've taken the matias liner damped sliders and switched them over into...

Hi Khers, I am not affiliated with this site nor have I used their services however I did note free international shipping and it was the first vendor that came to mind.

Hope it helps http://lasergist.com/

Perhaps you can enquire about the feasibility of a brass plate

Thanks for the write up Hypersphere, I did notice in some older threads that you mentioned you were in possession of some of the alps sprit springs, however I saw no mention of them in this "approaching endgame" build. Was there a particular reason you decided to stick with the stock blue alps sprin...

Just wondering, since the tactile leaf and switch plate is a considerable factor in the weight of the switch, am I m...

I could not agree more with Hypersphere, but if you do start getting into old Alps be prepared to encounter disappointments along the way more than once. Something like this is a good cheap beginning: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Apple-Tastatur-Extended-Keyboard-II-mit-ADB-Anschlus-/182485589420?hash=ite...

Thanks very much for the links, but I was wondering isn't the DELL a different sort of switch?. Must admit I have only been in Germany after coming from the other side of the world and I've already bought myself 3 vintage cherry boards  . I thought I would be blowing the money on touristy thin...

I'm actually bidding on that mac kb haha as for the the wallet depletion, I bought a set of HS's so I'm helping fund yours too :) Yes the reason why I'm searching for alps boards is to build a custom board, I don't enjoy anything larger than 60% simply because of desk space and that I travel with my...
