Notebooks with decent and usable keyboards?
I was at my dad's place last week fixing computers with his desktop and while I was waiting for the HDD to clone, I was using his notebook to surf the web. He was looking at me funny because I was cussing at the laptop's POS keyboard. Granted it is a cheap Dell he brought at Walmart almost five year...

About RSI, I saw some people in my career with carpal tunnel Injury, and it's not funny. Buy the trackball dudes! Proper desk and positioning is important. But what is even more important is to recognize the first signs of RSI and ask for help. Nowadays I think any computer geeks or heavy typists i...

As long as the posture does not potentially incur unnecessary injuries, e.g. no raised shoulders, elbows angle < 90° (a result of how high one's typing surface / keyboard platform is, this also affects wrist angles), straight and relaxed wrists (this one related to the use of wrist rest and 'flippe...

... Is this normal to have mixed results when using a wrist rest? Yes, especially when using these gel wrist rests that feel like getting your keyboard a boob job. Now that you mention it, it does feel almost like a boob but not as soft. Now I noticed that my typing speed and accuracy has improved ...

I brought a gel wrist rest from a local business supply store yesterday and it is almost forcing me to relearn how to type again. It kind of feels like it is in the way as I type, so I'm having mixed feelings on getting this. On the other hand this does make a nice arm and elbow rest for me when I'm...

Sorry I haven't posted more my review, but I've been sort of busy and I sort of forgot about this thread. Sorry about that. I'm putting in some effort to notice the little things that can "make or break" a keyboard for users. what are some things for to look for? The keystrokes do produce a nice cla...

I went over to Walmart Sunday to get a wrist rest and they told me I will need to go over to the Walmart Supercenter or to the local business supply store to buy one as that store didn't have any. I knew I should have have added one to my order when I ordered my keyboard last week from Newegg...

After watching a few YouTube videos on proper typing, I'm trying to keep my posture straight with my feet flat on the floor. However bad habits die hard. I'm also forcing myself to get up and take a break and move around every so often as well. Is every 20 to 30 minutes the right amount of time to d...

The proper way(s) to type?
Ever since I started learning more about mechanical keyboards during the last month or two, I keep reading every now and then that the way we are supposed to type is with our hands in the air and not with our wrist on the desk while typing. And with the keyboard laying flat as well. Well for some ti...

Do you rest your palm when you tough type or do your type with your hands floating in the air like typewriter typists used to do? The latter is the proper technique and will prevent tensions in the wrists and hands the first induces. Typing hands in the air will provide some force momentum to your ...

Well after using my new AZIO-Retro keyboard with Cherry MX Blue clone switches for a couple of days, I have to say I really like these kind of switches. The noise doesn't bother me at all, but I live alone. Perhaps I'll take a look at Browns and Clears in case I ever live with someone or work in a o...

OK I been using this for a day now and here are some things I noticed: The keycaps are easy to remove without a key puller. I'm not sure is this good or bad. The key presses are lighter and more comfortable then the SolidTek 6600C I was using. This alone is worth buying this. They are also easy to s...

My AZIO Retro keyboard.
OK I've been playing with this since noon. It feels great like a solid keyboard and very comfortable to type on. I did the nickle test and it comes out at 10 nickles, so around ~50 grams? So far so I like it much better then my 4 year old SolidTek 6600C I was using. I'll post more as I use it. Here ...

I'm having second thoughts, maybe I'll get the WASD V2 87-Key keyboard with Cherry Blues instead? Also, just to make sure you know it: unless you're alone in the room, any type of clicking keyboard (Cherry MX Blue/Green, clicky Alps, Model M, Model F, Space Invader switch etc.) will drive everybody...

Perhaps save a bit more and get the real creations of this suicide artist, it actually costs similar to a custom Korean keyboard. https://datamancer.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/DSC3081-copy-cropped-1000x513.jpg And pair it with a retro mouse https://datamancer.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/06-1...

My priority would be to get the decent keyboard and wait for the keycaps if that makes it more manageable. It's less of an outlay overall if you can wait a while for the look you want. There are cheaper mech boards that might fit the bill too, without sacrificing too much quality. You could look at...

The look is easy, there are plenty of keycap sets around, especially if you're using an ANSI layout. The exact keycap set that is used on that board is available on ebay, but there are also much better sets with a similar look. They will work on most MX compatible keyboards, including those Cooler ...
