Re: Strange 4704 IBM Model F122

that's not a 4704 F122, that's a wiki/IBM_Model_F#IBM_4980_Keyboard

I've seen another one in the wild, so they are pretty rare

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

Hey fellas, Does anyone recognize the sublegends on this Cherry board? (Or maybe they were added manually?) I'm guessing PBT dyesub caps as there's no yellowing. Sorry about the tiny pic! I've seen it already, the legends are amazing, but I'm pretty sure I can spot a bar on the F, which means G83 :(

Interesting how the Pingmaster has a similar clip-on foot system.
it's not so interesting, since it's also a part of the 4704 system

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

They are DCS keycaps, from Signature Profile, so they're not Cherry profile. I reckon they are keyboards from hospitals, as they feature multiple keycaps with molecules on it. Surely you can make out what COC, AMPH, METH, THC, OPI, PCP, etc ... no ? ... well .. maybe that means I shouldn't either :l...

Hmmm. How is that G80-3850? Is that one of the classic PCB-mount designs? It's relatively affordable where I am.
The G80-3800 is however, PCB-mounted, so this is the one you might want to look out for.

Re: So what's the 'classic' way to mount MX Browns?

I ask because most factory keyboards using MX Browns are ANSI-style, and plate mounted [usually aluminum]. But I get the sense from reading posts here and elsewhere that MX Brown 'lost its way' after the 2000s and is today mounted in a harsh and unyielding way. Is this the case? How were Browns ori...

When I saw the pics of the listing of that keyboard, I was at first, disgusted, but ... I pitied that keyboard, you know ? it was 10 years old, and seems to have been through a lot, but something happened, and it wasn't used anymore, and now it was abandoned to the world of numbers, people didn't se...
