Been a long time here too, but I just want to extend a hand out and say that Deskthority has helped me in arranging many good trade deals and helping me with my absolutely balls dumb questions. To get me started and in the know on basics and the market of keyboards, how to restore them, and archivin...

WTB: Any 21"+CRT monitor

Trying to complete my triple screen 20-21" monitor setup, but sadly I've been needing 1 more monitor, my 144hz LCD cannot take its place. I would kill for a FW900, but anything else I would also go for. Hit me up if you're anywhere in Australia with one

Re: FS: PS/2 or ADB to USB R3scan® converters

To all purchasers of my converter! Results are in, shipping may take up to 7 weeks to arrive as letters are quite unreliable, but are the only option I have to make these at this price. General time I've seen is from 1-7 weeks it seems If you don't get it after then feel free to hit me up to discuss...

Man, DT wasn't really bad when I joined, I guess its just from all these Chinese kids and shillers spamming everywhere on keyboard groups.

I'm Chinese and get that, but this is literally calling heresy

Re: Using superglue as invincible clearcoat/powdercoat

There's a supplier or two on chinese sites, but there's some american brands that seem to have far more quality offerings that won't look all matte when dried. E-Z BOND and BOB SMITH INDUSTRIES seem to produce pretty decent superglue, so give those a shot. They're not really expensive if sprayed thr...

Using superglue as invincible clearcoat/powdercoat

Now first of all, let me state that all 2k sprays are deadly expensive, at up to $40+ per restoration. Powdercoating is not that much cheaper either. That's my motivation for trying to find a much more durable, at least semi reusable method of spraying an IMPERVIOUS clear coat. Preferably gloss. Ini...

Re: [BATCH#1] Katalyzr 3DPrnted Converter X->USB O-Src [GLOBAL Ship]

Due to the small size restrictions of this design and the requirements of the post office to ship below the cost of a parcel, but instead as a letter, I've had to rule out the simplification of combining the two halves of the converter using just a set of screws as one would conventionally. So for t...

Re: Yet another beamspring refurb (5251)

Beamspring switches have the most play of any switches. You can rotate keytops like 5 degrees when they sit. You can press a 7U beamspring spacebar about 90% of its length with no stabilizer bar. How can one minimize this play in the switches? Are there any known modifications to the keyboard to ac...

Re: (Model MF) Remodeling the Model M (aka.. the Mara)

I think it's still possible to curve the plate at the same time as keeping the profiling on the caps, the curve after all is really quite passive and not at all aggressive like some cherry boards and even modern day ones. I'm putting my vote for a still curved mark 2 because the curved profile justi...
