very interesting that you come up with a mx version of a design that has already been done by Siemens in the 1970s https://deskthority.net/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=9239 I bought the white capped version of the boared posted at the bottom of Haata's thread, it is a pleasure to type on. Behold the first switch I ever designed.

Well, I don't know how to start to talk about this, but I'll do my best. Three days ago I got the idea of design my own switch, considering what I think may result in an S-tier switch. I came up with this thing, the model was ended today: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/555514970033618958/6...

But there was now a lot of exposed copper. I'm not sure the function of the silver colored metal that covers the copper. Is this maybe the cause of my issue? In think the silver plating is used to ensure a good continuity between the PCB and the controller, no more than that. Something like the jav...

Thanks for the answers about FreeCAD, but I just discovered that Solidworks has transparency settings too :D If all goes well, I will have the beta version of my switch tomorrow.

Try changing the angle of the keyboard or attach a different keycap before trying with the original one, this worked for me.

Can I ask what kind of program are you using? I have some switches to design too. As in any update, your work is going wonderful. I would like to suggest something like an empanada mold to bend the beamsprings once they are cut, if you understand what I mean. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/MgwAAOSwf...

I think the real problem is the community itself. When I was a kid I learned the basics of digital electronics in Minecraft  The true cancer is the modern servers, all full of minigames and bullshit.

Modern atheism is a politicized sect of idiots who only repeat things when they don't really know even how to apply basic logic. Modern atheism is different from old atheism? Re: Silent keyboards slow typing speed (research?)

Regarding my personal experiences and those of one of my friends, both we type a bit slower when listening to music at a very high volume (without hearing the noises coming from the keyboard). This is a bit hard to me because my beamspring is loud as fuck, but sounds makes a difference.

I usually drink my coffee with cold orange juice. The good acidity of the orange neutralize the bad acidity of the coffee, resulting in a very good flavor.

I wonder whether the topology of an Oreo has any impact on Dr. Fisher's biscuit dunking formula. Dude, I took aside the cream of an entire package. At least here, the cookie itself is the best one in the market. Not too hard, not too soft and not overwhelmingly sweet. They aren't chocolate flavored...

Why not start a thread of unpopular opinions? I begin:

• Dogs aren't that great.
• I don't like Johnny Depp.

Dude, that's the most beautyful keyboard I have ever seen. For some reason both yellowing and marbling look so good on the M110's. I have one in his original state and I love it, but because of the layout rarely goes out of the plastic bag.

I have plates from AEK IIs that could be cut down. They will need some TLC, but at $15 they are cheap. Unfortunately, due to dimensions, they will cost almost $15 to ship! I also have plates from old Wyse boards. Also PCBs for both the above. I have some plates but that's not in my plans. Thanks an...

Any cheap way to make or order a switchplate?

Hello DT. With my time in this hobby I got too much loose switches, +200 vintage Cherry MX blacks, some early white Alps from a Focus FK-3001 with 10 dead switches, IBM XT barrels and flippers and a fucking ton of Alps SKFF's. I already designed 2-3 plates for very interesting keyboards using Solidw...

Maybe you could mark, or even cut the parts using the same process as with the old fashioned handmade PCB's. Toner printing or something similar over the sheet you want to cut and then give it a bath in a hot acid or salt like ferric chloride. Maybe the second part is inviable because of the sheet t...

Re: Univac Keyboard (Micro Switch)

Just a couple of updates. I've still been unable to get TMK working with the "pulse" type switches. I think the pulse it gives off is just too brief and is getting filtered out by the firmware or something. I've not ventured deep into the belly of TMK to see if this is actually correct. I've just b...
