Re: What is this layout called?
Ah well, too bad you guys don't like it. The only other layout that kinda falls into the same sort of area would be the 1800 layout, with a complete numpad, but less horizontal space. I was kinda thinking of this as a reduced 1800, with the numpad in place of the movement keys of a TKL. Having the 2...

What is this layout called?
Hi, so I recently came across this Keyboard: https://c-v.sh/unbridgedxyster.jpg What is that layout called? They call it "TKL" on the Havit website, but it's obviously not TKL, as it quite obviously has the numpad right where you'd normally expect edit and movement keys. It's also not "navless" sinc...

Re: Trackball "aball"
12 years in production. It's not exactly what I meant. The rotation is encoded as a set of scroll-wheel movements (usually in the guise of "buttons". In my case button 4 is up and button 5 is down). The rotation isn't sent to the OS as an actual z-axis rotation. It is interpreted as such. But in an...

Re: Trackball "aball"
Z-axis is quite standard signal for ages, interpreted by most systems and applications as scrolling and zooming. OK, I only know of CAD mice and controllers implementing z-axis rotation. Regular input devices, I don't know of any, aside from things like joysticks, and perhaps the rotation on Wacom ...

Re: Micro Switch switch used in Apollo DSKY
Your catalog is from 2016, so it is likely that these switches are still available, if you wrote to info.sc@honeywell.com to request pricing. Well, If you look for the product numbers/codes on places like Mouser or Digikey, you won't find most of them. But you can find some that aren't in that cata...

Trackball "aball"
Hi, I recently came across this: https://github.com/brickbots/aball https://raw.githubusercontent.com/brickbots/aball/master/photos/aball_min.jpeg Pro Micro based and doesn't use scavenged Mouse parts, which is nice. I don't quite like the 3D printed cradle with the ball bearings, though. I'm pretty...

Not sure if they still make them, but you can still get the product catalog on Honeywell's website: https://sensing.honeywell.com/honeywell ... 3-2-en.pdf

DAS KEYBOARD Ultimate S issues and repair.
Hi everyone! First, I'd like to thank Chyros, his videos helped me decide which switches to get to replace my Cherry MX blue switches! So, I've been using this keyboard for the past nine years. I usually clean my keyboards (when I use them) around every six months to around a year, depending on how ...

I cannot be absolutely sure which keyboard I've ever typed on first, I just know it was in my primary school. However I didn't do any typing as such, I'm not even sure whether the Computer was really switched on at the time, too many years ago. The first keyboard I've ever typed on at home, was an E...

Can the [Fn] key be switched to be a [Super] / [Win] key? Because I have that mapped to another function, too.rich1051414 wrote: ↑The Bottom Row is:

The Azio keyboard is alright, except it has the Fn-key where a Menu key should go. Can that be switched to be a regular Menu button? When it comes to glossy plastic: The DAS KEYBOARD is simply not that well made in that respect. Whenever I took it apart, the top half wants to twist and bend, and it'...

You will find that certain specialty switches are rarely found in production keyboards, and if you want to experience them, learning to solder may be a good investment of time. Personally I use a hakko soldering station and a hakko desoldering gun, but you can get away with way less than that. Howe...

Is there a keyboard (fullsize) fitted with Kailh Bronze?
As the title implies, I'm having a hard time finding a keyboard, which uses the Kailh Bronze switches or any of the box switches. The bronze Kailh and the white Box switches from Kailh are the one I'm enjoying the most it seems. However it seems no keyboard manufacturer uses them. On a slightly othe...

DAMN you got me interested in this so-called MOD-SH switch. Do want, I actually love the MOD-H's but they still lack that force I am looking for. I need a switch that will not only break my fingers for touching them but also teaches me to type correctly instead of wasting time. When using any keybo...

Yeah, that's what I am saying. The Mod-L switch has a shallower tactile bump than the Mod-M to make the switch feel lighter. The stem on the Mod-L is more like a brown switch than clear. However, on the Mod-M and heavier, they are all based on the clear stem, which has a much more defined tactility...

If you care more about the switch being really light than you care about how the switch actually feels, then the Mod-L might be a good compromise. It is important to remember that everyone is different, so do what you think is best for what you are looking for :) A stronger tactile bump will invari...

Hmm, ok, thanks for the insight. I always thought since Cherry blues are weighted around 45g, the MOD-L would be the best corresponding fit, since they're also weighted at 45g. I assumed the tactility would be roughly the same across the entire MOD-* range, just a stronger spring to resist pushing d...

Should I get MOD-L switches for typing? (Cherry MX blue user)
So, it's time to get a new keyboard. So fat I've been using Cherry MX blue switches, the keyboard is now ten years old, and some switches show signs of wear. (one stopped working entirely, and a couple others are inconsistent when it comes to actuation force, they're noticeably harder to push down),...

Power on using a ballast (regular 60W bulb in series with it is sufficient, check google for how to wire those up). Check current draw, check if it draw a lot of current or abnormaly low. If you have an IR thermoter or even FLIR cam, check for hot spots, those are usually failed devices and/or short...
