Re: Help with a cursed model F 122

I haven't opened the keyboard yet, so I'm not sure. I'm guessing it's okay for now. Why would you kill for a Blue Snowball? haha They are wonderful microphones. I have to settle for a Trust that is not condenser. Boy, that sucks. I am going to have to take apart my IBM AT and replace the foam on th...

Re: Help with a cursed model F 122

On second thoughts, I am guessing the foam isn't in the best condition. I removed the keycaps to clean the barrel frame, and after reassembling - the keys make the same spongy sound as my other Models F do when the foam is bad. Fantastic. I love how everything I touch ends up fucked. It'll be just ...

Re: Help with a cursed model F 122

Congratulations on fixing the haunted keyboard... haha. I just got mine today, it's really damn good... I love the noise, although I agree with what you said about the F 122 having a "loose" feeling. I uploaded a sound test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP0xXz_4Pvo Cool. Is the foam in bad condi...

Re: Alps Appreciation

Hey guys, I found a acer 6023 keyboard long ago and I have time to clean it today. I thought they were faded skcm blues but there are some bulges in the stem :o Remind me of gainsborough's KB-101A/TK So they are not faded blues? Any other ALPS stem like this? https://i.imgur.com/BGRncSg.jpg https:/...

The keycaps look like signature plastics, but that doesn't really narrow down anything, because they had keycaps for nearly every single mount out there.

Re: [SHIPPED] Hua-Jie AK-CN2 Alps clones (ROUND 2)

Has anyone else received their switches yet? I'd like to get everone's feedback on them and work out improvements/suggestions. I understand that this might not be what you are looking for, because I didn't buy any, but I would say that the main improvement any alps clone could make would be to add ...

Keycaps look like the ones that are on the chicony 5160, so it could be alps. Not sure though.

The profile and the lettering are a dead giveaway. The super sharp corners too.

What would dyesub or double-shot caps from a g80-3000 be worth and is there a good place to get something like that? I currently use dyesubs from a g81-1000 but alas the modifiers and spacebar, as well as the capslock don't fit because of stems and width. What do you mean that they don't fit? do yo...

Basically, the cleaner you buy them, the more you stack the deck in your favour. Sure, you may score a lucky hit with a dirty board, or even a bad beat with a nice-looking one, but waiting for those pocket aces will give you the best possible chance of getting the real deal. I can confirm, it's all...

Re: IBM 5576 Keyboard

How does it feel? Without a doubt, the worst feeling board I’ve ever used. No elitism, run of the mill modern domes feel much better. Isn't this the one that was on ebay for 1,200 bucks? Quite interesting switches, looks like Keytronic Tactile foam and foil, but with an MX stem. How does the sensing work? Tested on; SKBM white, SKCL Yellow pine Now we need to try pine vs bamboo. Maybe they changed materials when removing the slits? https://www.keebtalk.com/t/us-ca-h-...
