I would also be interested in purchasing some of the white alps, depending on the price.

Re: Ultrasonic cleaning SKCL green Alps

From my experience, IPA in an UC is the best for a quick, deep clean. You don't really need to UC the switch plates, you can do those by hand to clear the dust off, if there is any.

Once I am done with some stuff, I will post my Honeywell branded G80-0528. Well, it's not actually a G80-0528, it's a different model number on the PCB. I believe it was G80-0689? I also got a very interested unbranded Model F XT clone board. It's honestly very well built, with OG Cherry Doubleshot...

Holy cow. I had no idea focus even made black boards. It's fantastic.

Have any more details? What switches does it use? You don't typically see black keycaps made by Tai Hao, especially ones as old as this! Not even any windows keys...

Re: BOX switches STILL cracking keycaps!

Fair enough. The question though is - even if I get my hand on some New Stem Box Jades, will they crack my Double Shot ABS GMK Caps or not? The insecurity around this issue is huge. No, they shouldn't. Ok, I want to believe you. Still the risk is pretty darn high. Do we have any actual examples whe...

nah, that's an alps board. Tai Hao caps.
I'm curious how you can tell. What are the giveaways?

So many of these look like unbranded Model M's to me.
The giveaways are typically the font used on the caps, and the colors. Tai Hao used colored modifiers sometimes.

the small microchips and scratches are almost at each of the set, usually at one or more caps and I try to replace with better caps, so it is very time consumpting. I have several sets which I canibalise for it :-) But the problem is with some repetitive caps - right Enter, INS, CTRL and I don't ha...

Kailh, I am very disappointed. I defended you... What is the point of this trend of consumers feeling the need to 'defend' a company's problem, ostensibly out of goodwill? Is it for a sense of entitlement? If it's a culture that said companies encourage (e.g using marketing that makes consumers fee...

Yup. Seeing as I haven’t opined about Alps yet: they’re fascinating, yet vexing. There’s enormous variety and, until recently, you could come by them quite cheaply. But here’s the thing with Alps. I am typing on an HHKB, it's one of the best typing experiences that I have ever had. It's a perfect board for me. It's lightweight, good for travel, and I can type on it for longer than any other board that I own.
