Re: Help converting Zenith Data Systems to USB with Soarer's Converter?
yes, should be safe to remove that, and recompile. I've also re-written a good portion of that code as well, as the macros IMHO don't allow for a more maintainable code-base, but that's just a personal code-smell kind of thing. let me know if it still doesn't work right, i might have accidentally m...

Re: Mechanical Keyboards Are Thriving Because Apple and Microsoft Don't Make Them
That white Apple rubber dome about halfway through was one of the most abominable keyboards ever (my daughter (about 12 at the time)) had one and loved it because it was "cute" .... Pure soggy mush, and the author called it "a joy" to type on! even comparing apple rubber domes and laptop boards to ...

Re: Mechanical Keyboards Are Thriving Because Apple and Microsoft Don't Make Them
My favorite quote from the article: "Of course, not everyone is ready to solder their own keycaps..." I'm certainly not ready to solder any of my keycaps either. yeah I did a double take when I read that. gave them the benefit of a doubt none the less. I recall having to explain the distinction bet...

Re: Univac Keyboard (Micro Switch)
This looks pretty close to cortron switches - including the driving electronics. Have you tried to reverse-engineer the driving electronics for it? I'm trying to replace the central MCU in one of those, but couple of keys are not pressed reliably and I can't understand is it because of the keys bei...

even if their IP's are randomized, detecting them should be as "simple" as a well trained statistical model. they make some pretty obvious patterns. im pretty sure they're also not fully automated. So I made a simulation using a very famous black list. If I had to ban by IP what the blacklist says ...

ah, so glad to hear you got this working! i was gonna pipe in and say that there's a big ol bug in the form of a debug statement in the middle of an interrupt routine that causes the QMK converter to bug out. if you remove that statement it works just fine. no idea why its there, or why someone tho...

ah, that's unfortunately no longer maintained, i would suggest the QMK converter for the 5251 (I wrote it ) there's unfortunately not really a way to avoid writing some amount of code, as i think even the QMK configurator is still a little bugged

Re: A question for the keyboard collectors, who also collect terminals
Hi, I'm thinking about buying an IBM 5251 terminal/screen for my existing 5251 keyboard. I wonder, will this be only a decoration piece or would it be possible to get any kind of interaction between the terminal und the keyboard (without the actual computer behind it). For example: Will some charac...

Re: IBM 029 keypunch keyboard repair and conversion
ok so some updates, i did manage to get a converter made, and tested, but i had the footprint for the power supply wrong; and managed to wire the fly-back diode wrong (well and the pads of the fly-back might have been too close, but i didn't see any sparking), so had to bodge a crap-load, and ended ...

Re: Univac Keyboard (Micro Switch)
ok so if i recall correctly microswitch hall effect switches are open collector output on pins 2 and 3, pins 1 and 4 are power and ground. the reason you need resistors on pins 2 and 3 is because current flows when there is a potential difference (waters moves from areas of high pressure to low pres...
