Re: Stuff I got in China (Poll)

An Olivette keyboard with Snap-Action switches. Works in similar principle as the Alps Plate Spring and IBM Beamspring. How does it feel? Pretty JUNK-Scratchy, inconsistent, shallow travel. Don't even sound that good on this board. Overall, not very good. Well that's dissapoiting. Scratching this o...

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

Be aware it seems that's not beam spring, but foam and foil, despite having look-alike keycaps and layout https://deskthority.net/viewtopic.php?t=13823 The guy that lists those keyboards on ebay seems to think that every old keyboard is beam spring or something. I've given him an offer of 200Eur fo...

Quadex Q 5000 ,not sure what kind of switches but it looks old and is kinda huge.
It's most likely microswitch. From the keycaps and shape of spacebar.

Re: A new US Republican thread 2016

First they take away the beam springs with solenoid, saying "Nobody needs a solenoid these days!" Next, they take the regular beam springs, then the pingy Alps, then all clicky switches, then linears and finally the rubbish rubber domes. Next thing you know, were in a God-damned touchscreen society...

How much is a IBM 3101 in this condition worth?
I think showing the inside is more important here since that's where the key feel lays. You can repaint the case anyway.

WTB: Converted Obscure Keyboards

Must have spherical keycaps 2. Key feel must be decent enough for daily, don't want extreme scratchiness or 300gf weig...

Lookin good, btw, how heavy are these switches? Those in my TI Terminal are very light Thanks! I'd say the switches on this board are on the heavy side. They do actuate pretty high up but feel fairly heavy when bottoming out. Swabbing on a plastic safe silicone spray lube did help with the famous s...

People’s reaction was always the same: good save, guys! It’s like they were rubber...

The oak membrane is a very nice switch. Dont look at the name, I have two boards with this type switch and they're all very smooth linear.
