Re: Interviewing the Vice President of Development at Unicomp! New Tenkeyless to come!

It is less a problem with buckling spring work and more a problem with how membranes work. No room in the membrane for diodes. With the other Ms I doubt they'd change the matrix to preserve compatibility with older Ms. I have a feeling that they will want to be compatible with old SSKs as well, but ...

[SOLD] IBM F AT

A while ago I ordered a beat up XT on ebay hoping to use it for parts whenever I got around to modding my AT, but when I got it the box had an AT in it instead. I can't exactly justify using that AT as parts but I don't need two of them either, so I'm hoping to sell one of them to someone who will e...

Re: Blue Alps Kickstarter Discussion

Putting it differently: This thread is about kickstarter, not about how to make a prototype. Start by asking for help with a proto and not by asking about the best way to get money. Money is not step one and the fact that you've jumped to this step before getting a prototype made is not a good first...

Re: Blue Alps Kickstarter Discussion

I don't know how to make the product, please pay me Not going to happen. You don't know how to design switches and your GB for alps clones wasn't ran very well. There's absolutely no reason for anyone to think that you are capable of doing this successfully. Maybe if you had a prototype or had desi...

[Cherry M9] Ultratech Miniprint

I've been interested in these sorts of TDD/TTY devices for a while now, what with their interesting legends, small size, and the complete redundancy in the face of cell phone texting. A shame all of them that I have thus far acquired have not been functioning because my bank still has a line for the...

Re: BOX switch and the keycap situation

If you got them from a reputable seller they are the revised stem version and will not harm your caps. There are sellers that still sell the old switch, but if you get it from novelkeys or somewhere like that you should be good.

[WTB] M0110A for parts

WTB an M0110A for the case and plate. I don't care about the condition of the plate as I will be using it to make my own replacement plate. Additionally, I do not care about the condition of the switches or caps or even if it has any. Board does not need to work. I would like the case itself to be i...

https://i.imgur.com/pXPBDTI.jpg okay, so I finally got ahold of a capacative version and they absolutely blow the conductive ones out of the water! Re: Unicomp SSK coming March 2020

Iirc that is so they can use a single barrel plate for both tsangan and quasi-modern bottom rows, as well as limiting the number of caps they have to make. It looks like shit, but if you remove a keycap and swap on a proper 7u space bar you get a good bottom row w/o needing any internal modification.

Those are M9, not uncommon, but usually found in typewriter. Do you have any pics of the full board? I've never seen M9 in a computer keyboard.

Re: Foam & Foil Mini Monster - Phase 2: Ideation

If you need to get additional capacitance, you might be able to put a layer of foil between the thin foam and the spring, that way as the spring flattens, it not only makes more contact with the sensor but also more contact with the foil, allowing for a higher change in capacitance.

Cherry PCB with Stackpole Switches

Here is an interesting find. A Cherry PCB with stackpole switches. Interestingly enough the switches have a sherry sticker. heat shrink tube would be easiest to apply before bending the stab wire, but since this is the end of the manufacture process and all the wires are bent already. maybe on future batches they might be able to do it.

The bed liner on the plate is a very good idea, it should be a very durable finish.
