There was an IBM JX keyboard that was posted for sale here for $200 plus shipping not too long ago. Granted, it wasn't in the best shape but I am wondering if anyone on here actually bought it given what these two sold for.

This one was essentially a freebie but I got a hold of a set of Displaywriter manuals. They are not in the best shape but I am nonetheless in awe of the sheer quantity of documentation that came with this machine. https://i.imgur.com/whHjke8.jpg https://i.imgur.com/mxcOOk7.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Wy...

I have seen some examples of 5251 restorations that had good results with plasti dip, that is probably your cheapest option. Though that being said, I am also looking into getting a bunch of my keyboard cases either professionally powder coated or cerakoted. IIRC you are in OC so this might be a bit...

Just hunt around eBay. You should be able to find a Model F XT for around $75 USD. A Model F AT will be around $120 USD. A Model F 122 will be around $200 USD. Don't forget to factor in the cost for the Soarer adapter. Those prices are unrealistically low by today's standards, I would say expect to...

Unfortunately I was not joking about that price. However I went to a few other shops today to get a better idea. The first one outright told me that they couldn't do the job but then sent me directly to another shop that was a few minutes away, and it seems like they are probably willing to do it. T...

Regardless of how one feels about BOX switches, I think more people should be disappointed in Kailh's response to the situation. I don't know if I have interpreted it correctly, but it seems like they are essentially denying culpability for all monetary losses people have incurred from damaged keyca...

Wanted to bump this again because I have looked into getting some steel replacement 3278 lids. I went to my local machine shop and asked them what it would cost me, and to my horror, they said... $500 each. Absolute madness! Wondering if I should search around for other shops or if these rates are n...

Model F AT, barely used with original box: https://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-Model-F-AT ... 2391672703
Around a day left and the price is still low. Wonder how much it is going to shoot up tomorrow.

 I saw something else equally important at the beginning of the article: Yes, what you’re looking at is the current entrance to the Australian Computer Museum Society, located in the depths of Sydney. When I first called John, I didn’t know what to say. A friend had sent me a document reveal...

Yikes. I had a board with BOX Navies and SA Dasher keycaps sitting in storage for several months, and upon seeing this video I immediately went ahead and pulled them all off. I then attempted to fit them on another board I had lying around with MX Blues and noticed that they fit very loosely. Not as...

Indeed, I think Corbyn himself is a very interesting enigma for sure. It might be weird for me to say this as an American, but his presence in politics does make me envy you folks across the pond. At least you guys seem to have actual choices in your elections whereas "the lesser of two evils" conti...

During my hunt, I've spoken to people who claim that there are single vintage computer collectors who have 10 or more complete working Series/1 systems, but won't part with any of them. Then of course, if you Google it, all you find are articles about how the US military STILL USES the Series/1 to ...

What would be more interesting is if people wouldn't only be able to spot each other's propaganda, in an us vs them, but would be able to spot your own culture's propaganda. I'll start. In the West there's a collective historic guilt about the colonization of Africa and all the resulting bloodshed....

Granted, sound is a very subjective thing to judge but I feel the same way as many others here about the placement of MX Blue and its clones on this list. While I certainly don't think they sound particularly good compared to so many other clicky switches out there, I wouldn't rank them as the absol...

Someone is offering to sell me an '87 1391472 SSK for $250. Seems a little high to me but I am wondering if prices went up since I last checked? All the SSKs I currently see on ebay are listed at above $300. Really depends on the condition, I think. If it's in good condition that is certainly below...

Nice to finally see you review a review a realforce. I think Topre switches sound fairly nice especially once they are lubed and silenced, but even then I still think Scorpius Dome with Slider sounds MUCH better. But I am the type who prefers louder switches in general ;) . I know you have said mult...

The problem isn't that people don't acknowledge DT, it's that people have completely incorrect perceptions about the site. Any time I mention DT on GH, I almost always get "But DT is only vintage stuff" or "It's just cranky Europeans" or "I hate how slow the content is". I actually went and searche...
