Re: Tipro POS Question

You need to use a computer running a 32 bit version of Windows, you can get a copy quite easily by downloading a Windows 10 .iso from Microsoft and using something like Win To USB to make a bootable thumb drive, then just install Changme and program the board, having to reboot to reprogram is kind of a...

Re: PK-111 POS Keyboard

Programming over PS/2 does not work in 64 bit Windows due to Microsoft changing a few things, you need to use a 32 bit version of your OS,easiest way is to download a copy of 10 from Microsoft, then make a bootable copy of it on a USB drive and program the board from there. VM's will not work.

Wouldn't Cherry Tools be the program you need? Though if it's PS/2 you will need to use a 32 bit OS to program it.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Macintosh-Portable-cable-for-Trackball-Keyboard-Numeric-Pad-M5120-M5126/293504005581 You need some salmon Alps switches? You don't mind unsoldering them? From what I've heard they're very solid keyboards for the price, logo is rather ugly though.

Not according to chyros. Pretty sure he reviewed this several weeks ago.
He did,he was neither kind nor polite in his description of it.

BDN9 - 3x3 9-key Macropad sounds like what you want, you do need to buy switches and keycaps and then assemble it yourself.

Re: Tipro KM128A PS/2 - Can I rip out the controller?

Ouch, this sounds painful. I have a VMWare machine running an old XP and I can use the keyboard normally with a PS/2 to USB converter, but I don't have access to a computer with a PS/2 port so I'm ultimately screwed as ChangeMe can't detect the keyboard. I'm guessing, even if I could add a controll...

Re: Tipro KM128A PS/2 - Can I rip out the controller?

You can reprogram them with Changeme running under 32 bit Win 10,and you can do that while booting from a flash drive. As far as the controller goes if it's anything like my Tipro made Cherry RC128BM the controller is soldered to the same pcb as the switches,I've been tempted to pull the pcb entirel...

I doubt the purpose of putting a lamp there? Is it convenient? No, blind your eyes.
From the note inside the board it's a retirement gag gift, they essentially took the guys old keyboard and turned it into a desk lamp.

I used MX Blacks for a few months on my RC128BM,I disliked them enough that I desoldered them and replaced them with blues, they weren't sandpapery though, just way too stiff.

Same seller also has RC80B's in stock, you will need a 32 bit copy of Win10,a PS/2 port, and Tipro's Changme software to program both boards.

No clue about the keyboard, but that Hirschmann MES 160 is an unusual choice.
That plug looks like something you'd attach to a flail.

Programming the PS/2 Tipros is a bit of a pain,I documented the method I used in my first post here- viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18949 , it's annoying but it works,I keep an old mini itx box with 32 bit Win 10 on it for when I need to redo mine.
