So sad. Are those Cherry MX Silent Red?

I wonder if the damaged keyboards got chucked because they had got damaged, or only damaged after they had been chucked.

They are indeed silent reds. Some Fnatics were pristine and work perfectly so I guess they got damaged after being thrown away.

Modern keyboards from a recycling center

So few days ago I decided to visit a local recycling center and I was surprised by how many new keyboards I found. Most of the keyboards are Fnatic MiniStreak with all kinds of cherry switches. I am attaching some photos below. IMG_20190603_134930.jpg IMG_20190606_133423.jpg IMG_20190606_133624.jpg ...

This looks like some sort of BTC keyboard, at least the bottom plate reminds me of that.

Access Keyboards macropad

So I've recently bought this cool looking macropad. From the labels I assume it's been used by Czech postal service. It has really smooth cherry mx blacks (smoothest mx black I've ever used). Mysterious Alps Numpad

My numpad arrived yesterday and it comes with a really interesting...well everything. Nice doubleshot caps and Alps common mount low profile switches that feel amazing. I didn't find anything about it on the internet so I am posting it here.

Can someone please help me identify this keyboard? Someone is selling it on a local auction site and I would like to know if it is worth buying. Thank you

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

The outside housing tells you it's a https://deskthority.net/wiki/Four-tab_clone -- getting more specific probably involves opening it up. "Louder and clickier" makes it sound like https://deskthority.net/wiki/Hua-Jie_AK_series is a possibility, but there may be many others. I opened up the switch ...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

So I've got this from a NTC keyboard. It's full of "White alps" they sound way clickier and sharper than my other white alps, plus they are missing alps logo. Could someone tell me if its a clone or something? Thank you

It's definitely interesting and I'll try and make it work on normal computer. Also got few basic keyboards with white alps. I'd say a good deal for 40$

Definitely do. I bought it for really cheap. People here started to check the prices more and more which makes it hard to get a good deal. But sometimes you just have luck and find this. Honestly it is great as a daily driver

Could you answer how people ruined this hobby? From what I know they never did anything. This is keyboard forum and it should stay just about keyboards. Judging people just because they like something different is really stupid. As long as no one never harmed any rules you shouldn't get angry at them.

Yeah Hall Effect is what matters. Hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on similar keyboard for comparison. So far my experience with them is amazing. Mind posting a picture of the controller circuitry? Or can it not be accessed unless the board is desoldered? I am not home at the moment but as so...

The keycaps are so thick my keycap puller didn't fit. It took me two hours to remove them. I think I scored pretty well for 12$. From what I've seen it is the only Czechoslovakian keyboard that can be converted with no problem.

It is just something my friend doodled for me

Czechoslovakia used Hall effect keyboards until the fall of communism. This is pretty wild guess but I think we still use a few. I think it was made in 1989 so the same year we got rid of communism. It's in really good shape only having few scratches. Once I lube the switches it'll sure be my daily ...

Most of them are super smooth but few need some more cleaning. It is really sturdy and feels quite nice to type on. Wouldn't recommend for gaming though.
